Just throwin it out there, the "seinfeld reunion" episode of curb your enthusiasum that aired tonight, oct 4 2009 had some lyme disease talk in it... i was laughing, you may too! check it out if you have hbo! yeah

ps, dont know if anyone remembers about my whole long post about getting pneumonia this past summer after i quit smoking.. now im losing hair in clumps. anyone lose hair ever?! my mom is a nurse (thank goodness) and told me its very common after a traumatic event happens to your body, or after you have been on a ton of meds very quickly... which i had both in the hospital... anyone got anything?

if not, check out that episode of curb! im pretty sure you will smile, especially at the end!

Hair loss after stress - yes, this is real. To help your hair to be healthy, try supplementing with biotin, Vitamin B12 (deficiency can cause hair loss), B-complex, silica, protein, & essential fatty acids. Adequate blood circulation (exercise), and good shampoo (i.e., not full of irritant & toxic chemicals; I use Giovanni brand because they don't use sodium laurel sulfate (SLS...I'm allergic to it)) are also helpful.

Good luck,

I'm sorry I missed it!  Is it possible to watch this show on the computer?  I know my older brother watches Desperate Housewives on his computer if he misses it on TV.

Razzle, wow, you really know your stuff!!

Yeah, I saw it.

Was looking for a little R and R and some laughs. Instead, I find that larry daivd is as much a hypochondiriac as me!

Hard to laugh at Lyme, but it may help our plight. Who the heck knows!

The Lyme disease references on CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM had me laughing but also caused my family to stop laughing and look at me to make sure I thought it was funny.  We all had a good laugh.

I have a friend who's Lyme was mis-diagnosed for ten years and she had hair loss.

Also remember, just because you are a hypochondriac doesn't your not sick.

I saw that too... It was hillarious.  A Lyme mention was on this weeks episode of House as well, of course they always throw Lyme out as a possibility.  So that was nothing new.

you can get the episode off of itunes * i think * ... it was great!

i ended up chopping my hair off, like 12 inches! it was too much to deal with losing all my hair like that.. and it was gross!

and tonight i was watching house and he pulled a huge tick out of a girls private parts.... hmm... i didnt see the whole thing though i just caught that part, i think house (another all time fav show) has had a few lyme episodes.. im glad to see it on tv. it makes it more real. even though i do feel better, i still have some issues... and people still sorta roll their eyes at me if i speak of them, so GOOD im glad they see the stuff on TV... apparently TV is more convincing then i am? ha!

Regarding the hair loss, yes the Lyme can do that, but if you are taking DHEA (a OTC supplement) I suggest you stop as it can also cause hair loss if you shouldn't be taking it.

Not only did I see that episode on Thursday, but about 8 hrs later I got a call with a diagnosis of Lyme Disease.  How weird is that?  Anyway, my first time on this forum and I am looking for any specialists in Lyme (infectuous disease) in the Boston downtown area.

I'll be looking further in this forum, but any referrals would be extremely appreciated as I'd like to try to get an appt this week (it's Monday the 19th).

Thank you...

You're so right. Even hypochondriacs get sick. But we obsess more and it makes us sicker.

Studies have shown that lots of lymies threshold for pain is much much more sensitive than others.
