My family and friends want to show support by wearing the Lyme awareness symbol.  I've been looking around on the internet trying to find one.  I noticed that a lime green ribbon (and lime green wrist bands) are used for lymphoma much like the pink ribbon and other accessories are used for breast cancer.   Is there such a thing for Lyme?

Not sure. I think it is the Green Ribbon.

I saw these cool bracelets just tonight on the site
and the proceeds go to lyme disease awareness and research that they host.

check it out.

Hi KeepHope. Thaks for your reply and for the web address. I got some good information from turnthecorner early on in my Lyme "adventure". They also sponsor walks to benefit Lyme disease. If I understood correctly, people can work through them to schedule a fundraiser in their community. Once I think I can walk a normal distance again I may do that. They were quite open about providing percentage of money for administrative costs, etc. The bracelets are attractive, but kind of expensive for my folks. And they're not as noticeable as I'd like for bringing attention to Lyme disease. Maybe we will go with green ribbons and just write Lyme on them.

Even these on Ebay.

I would do a search under Lyme Bracelets or Lyme ribbons .

I got a lot of various hits.

Thank you. That's more affordable and certainly not something that would blend in with one's outfit, thereby making it a good choice for bring attention to Lyme disease.

i had a huge green ribbon magnet for my car (just like the ones for troops etc) but i dont have it anymore... and i completely forget where i got it from, but if you google that, theres that.

i also got some bracelets that were silver (fake silver... or something?) and they had a green felt ribbon weaved through it and then a little green ribbon charm on it, with a heart charm as well... it was pretty cute, it was along the lines as the tiffanies bracelet.  good luck!

Thanks! I'll look for that. I intend to be as visible as possible, to make as much noise as possible, and to do whatever I can to get the message out that we have a lot of Lyme here in California. Before I found out I had it I thought Lyme was a back East thing. Certainly my doctors didn't behave as if they thought there was a Lyme problem here.

LLLLIIIIKKKKEEEEAAAAAMMMMMMAAAASSSSCCCCOOOOOTTTTTTT???????? OOOOOOH, we should have a contest for the "Lyme Mascot" that would be fun:

1. Little man with a green scottish skirt on?
2. Little green tick?
4. Littlegreen tick wearing a scottish skirt?
5. Dead little green tick covered by a scottisk skirt?
6. Dead little IDSA Dr. _______________ (you fill in the blank) covered by a scottish skirt made out of dead green ticks

Otherwise, I think its the greeen ribbon and/or the acronym "UOS"... and unauthorized use of the acronyms; "MF'nLD", GDIHLD", NOTLOLWLD", "***LD?", "KMIHLD", etc.

Very creative. Are there ticks in Ireland? By the way, I refuse to wear a tick. Well, on purpose. Apparently I've worn one in the past without knowing it.

I'm still deciphering some of your acronyms.

Hey Rose,

If you do a google search, you will find lots of stuff for Lyme at a reasonable price. I found some neat Lyme shirts I may order.

Btw, it's awesome that your family is supporting you like that!
