I know it is common for the typical American diet to be deficient in Zinc (and a bunch of other nutrients), not sure if it is common in Lyme though (wouldn't surprise me if it was...).

Garlic has zinc in it, which may be partially why it is so good for the immune system (Zinc is an anti-oxidant mineral that supports a healthy immune system).

Take care,

I think it is hard to get in the diet. I know oysters have a lot of zinc but I can't do that. Thanks 4 the info. I was wondering if being on abx so long could deplete zinc levels in the body?

Mother, Kyloic makes a liquid and capsule garlic supplement if you simply cannot handle the raw garlic taste. This can be found in most vitamin/health stores or also online vitamin stores. I get mine from HEB grocery store. Good thing i saw this post b/c it reminded me that i'm out! Time to go to HEB. You can also bake your garlic in the oven and it will retain nutrients- but raw is best of course.
I refuse to stay sick! Period.

You can also swallow a piece whole or cut it into smaller pieces and put the pieces into "00" size capsules to swallow. Chase it with a little chlorophyll (Nature's Way makes a nice one) liquid to cut the odor. Chlorophyll has many health benefits as well (good for the heart, oxygenates the body, etc.).
