It seems each time I do the Detox Bath I itch very bad after. Is there anything I can put in the bath to prevent itching after? And no the answer isn't to lather after. :)

Jenn,

Are you rinsing off after you do the detox bath? You have to rinse the toxins off of your skin.

I'm wondering if adding oatmeal(oatmeal bath) into the water to prevent itching would help. I'm not sure if it would interfere with your detoxing. Maybe Deejavu would know.

Itching is normal when detoxing as it shows the toxins are coming out of the body. You dont really want to prevent it, it shows that you need the detox baths. When you stop itching you will know that alot of toxins have been released and thats a good thing.

Sometimes, when you get too hot, histamine in your body, can cause itching. I itch really bad on my back when I get in a tub of hot water.

I guess I should give more details but it's a little personal if you know what I mean. If it was just toxins coming out than wouldn't everyone itch after the detox baths? I do not make the water hot at all.

it could be dry sink from the salt, try to moisturize with grape seed oil on days you don't detox bath.

Hi Jenn,

I think leaving salts on one's skin can cause itching.   You may have a yeast problem (I am guessing) and if that's the case I would stop doing the baths and take care of that problem first.

Many years ago I had root canal work done and was given Cipro in case of an infection and lo and behold, I got an infection in my female area and that drove me crazy with itching!  I used monostat and that helped me.

If you are talking about another area, you can always e-mail me if you feel embarrassed..

Hope that helps,

Denise
