Ok so I got confirmation from western blot I've got the Lyme Cooties. Started Meds and have an appointment next week with a lyme specialist. My questions is other than some fatigue, some mild aches, heart palpitations and a general weird feeling in my body, I'm not having any obvious symptoms. It has been caught VERY early, in fact I'm surprised the test was positive as it had been under the "6 weeks" testing thing docs go by, about 4-5 weeks.

Anyway, other than my meds, before my appointment next Thursday, should I be actively trying to do anything else? Like try the sauna at the gym.. epsom salt bath.. ect. The Lyme isn't gung ho yet, but should I be that way? Maybe this round of antibiotics will cut it, 3 weeks - doxycycline 100mg 2x a day.. ? I'm not looking for symptom relief as I'm not having many, but I'm concerned about the dead cooties in me still..

..any thoughts..

Hi Lovebug!
I don't remeber if I have welcomed you to our forum or not!! So - welcome!!! smilewinkgrin There is a lot of info available here & lots of people who will most likely be of great help for you!! Another thing to use is the 'search' button. This will narrow down any search for info!!

Detoxing is probably almost never a bad idea. We have so many toxins in our world today! skull We gather toxins from our environment, the things we put into & onto our bodies, from the homes we live in, etc., etc., etc.!!

I do epsom salt/peroxide bathes & foot baths (recipes in the Newbie thread) - and even though I am not currently under any tx, I am beginning to really feel a difference.

The dosage of Doxy to be effective for Lyme is 300 -400 mg/day. It is also advised to stay on it for at least 2 months.

There is a TON of really good info in the Newbies thread (a 'sticky' at the top of the forum). I would really encourage you to read through it all!! It will most likely answer a lot of questions for you.

I do hope that I have been at least a little help for you.
May you find peace on your path to healing

It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.
