I didn't read all of the posts, but I noticed that there are also threads on insomnia on the anxiety and depression forums. Might be a good place to check for additional input. I guess lots of us have sleep problems.

Some abx are wicked for causing insomnia but treating bart will also bring it out. I have been having difficulty myself but it is beginning to get a little better. Last night I had to take two corydallis to fall asleep.
Look up the side effects of doxy online. Google doxy with insomnia so you will find out if it is a rare side effect. You might be able to take something else. It won't do you much good to completely exhaust yourself when you are trying to get well. If you don't find anything about doxy causing insomnia it is probably just a herx and will get better in a couple of weeks.

I know the feeling. I went through it for years and years. My family could not ever go on vacation because I could not sleep. It was related to hormones for me - which reminds me! Progesterone is wonderful for helping you sleep. Ask you doctor about bio identical progesterone. It gave me a new life ( and within six months I was bitten by a tick!).

I think you should try everything natural before anything chemical!! Once you know you´ve done all the natural stuff and you still can´t get sleep - i would try something stronger. Tried everything like hot bath, warm milk with honey, sex, regular excersize (or just regular daily activity) getting up at the same time every day ect?

I have crazy insomnia. I slept for 26 hours, woke up at 1am now it´s 5 am (live in England) and I could sleep again. A few days ago i was awake 3 days with just 5 hours of sleep spread across them. Once I was awake 5 days straight ( i was going NUTS!).

I dont do anything for it though. Partly because Im that apathetic about it, way too used to it and because I believe it´s just my fault because Im not active enough in the day, too lazy and not diciplined enough to have a regular sleeping pattern. I´ve been like this since I got my last tick bite (I was 10). I think perhaps I should stop blaming myself and realize that it´s because of lyme and maybe not just me being pathetic and lazy... I found out i had lyme this summer (im 21), so I´ve been talking down to myself for years. thought patterns are hard to change
