Hi there!!!

I did research for this a couple of months ago.  My aunt swears by it but she does not have Lyme Disease. She has diabetes.  She also takes vicodin for the neuropathy so maybe the combination works for her. She is in such horrible state too so when I spoke with her, well, it did help her.

Anyway, after my research, no way would I take it. I work and have a son and have to have my head on straight especially for work (I work part time for attorneys and can't screw up.    It seemed like there were so many side effects to Lyrica, and some of the posts all over the internet scared me to death!!! Falling down, dizzy, extreme fatigue etc. The side effects sounded alot like Lyme to me!!  I also spoke to my gyno's nurse, who was on it and switched to neurotin. She of course has been diagnosed with fibro and I feel so bad for her being she is surrounded by ticks  but we all know how that goes. She told me she was tested for Lyme and I told her the tests are a gamble not a test.

I hope this helps!!  You can always try it but make sure your husband is prepared, such as not doing anything at all over the next week or so after he starts it!  Again, though with all the info out there, well, I would not count on it helping him too much and the side effects far outweigh the benefit.  Oh, shoot, one more thing, I had read quite alot about people starting it, feeling great and then about one week later, feeling like they were losing their minds!! I know, I know drastic for you to read but best you be prepared for what may happen.  I dont' recommend this drug.

Hopefully quite a few posts will come along to prove me wrong, I wish there was a miracle drug for so many suffering!

Hugs,

Robin

I rarely come on here anymore. I just don't have the energy to take all the info in.

Anyway, i have been taking Lyrica for the past year or so and it has helped reduce, how I would describe, the burning and swollen sensation in my muscles. Most noteably my calves. Also, it has helped my twitching tremendously. I used to twitch constantly when my body was at rest. some twitches were quite animated. They have been reduced in severity and numbers since taking 150mg twice daily for the past year or so. No side effects have bothered me that I know of. I would have to recommend trying it to see if it helps you.

My aunt has been taking it for her fibro and it has helped her too.
