Hi all,

I posted this link a while back and I thought it may be helpful to many.  Dr. Jernigan (who's protocol I followed), wrote this article and if you click on Page 3 which I think the link takes you to, he talks about lyme ammonia and leaky brain syndrome (LLBS).

Just keep scrolling down to the bottom or read the entire article from Page 1:

Deejavu - That was interesting and disturbing. I will ask my LLMD about the test.

It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

Rose,

Why do you find the article disturbing?  The good news is that there are solutions for all those problems!  Yeah!

I think it is disturbing, too - those sneaky little lyme bacteria! They have so many nasty tricks they can pull!

Yes, lyme bacteria is very sneaky!  Those spirochetes go everywhere, turn into different shapes, build protective cell walls around them, etc.  They are very smart but we are smarter!   Thank goodness for information..  knowledge is power, right?

I would find it disturbing if there were no solutions, but thank goodness there are!

Denise - Information is constantly leaking out of my brain these days - I don't want to think my brain is leaking elsewise. I am glad there is something to do about it, but right now I have a lot of things about which something can be done and the potential timetable for addressing all of them is unfathomable to me. I'm overwhelmed already with the amount of medication and suppplements I'm taking, and a new medication was just added this week. I am sure there is a lot more I can and should be doing, but I'm meeting myself coming back just trying to keep up with what I am doing already. I've never been less equipped to deal with things, and the demand for my ability to do so has rarely been higher. Sooo, my dis-ease about the post is a reflection of where I am right now, not in any way a reasoned response to the post itself. I'm glad you posted the link; I saved it on my "stuff to do later" list. I guess what it boils down to is maybe I just don't like seeing brain and leak in the same sentence.

Hi Rose,

First of all, I really feel for you for what you are going through right now and you can only do what you are capable of doing..  Same with me when I was sick with lyme, I took baby steps as that is all I could handle.  Some days I couldn't handle anything.

Anyway, I think Dr. Jernigan could have used a better term instead of "Leaky" as in reality, nothing is leaking from our brains.  I think all he is basically saying is to detox and that some people suffer from brain fog and other symptoms and what can be done about it.    But the key word I get from his article is to detox.  It's not as dramatic as he is making it sound.

I hope you feel better and please only do what you feel you can handle as that's the best way!

Denise
