Well, I talked to my supplement lady about being so nauseated on the liver cleanse and she wants me to not do the liver cleanse now and just continue on my supplements. She thinks my liver is too congested right now to handle a cleanse. I agree. So, I started my supplements again today and I'm looking soooo forward to eating salad all day. NOT! LOL!

She wants me to detox to get the toxins out of my liver. I will try to get in my sauna tonight and the foods I will be on will help too.

Wish me luck!!

I very gentle way to cleanse the liver without feeling sick is drinking lemon water and taking a low dose of Milk Thistle. This worked wonders for me when I was in full detox mode.

I recall those horrible days of nausea all day.

Also, keep the intenstines very clean, there is no point in cleaning the liver if the intestines are not able to handle the load from the liver.

Well clean and balanced I should have said.
Clean by eating clean (no dairy, no caffeine etc), 2-3 bowels movements a day, lots of water, a great cold source probiotic and eating fiber.

95% of the body's Serotonin is made in the intestines, and also the intestines play the most crucial role in a strong immune system.

A clean colon is imperative for optimum health.

lol Deenise!!

Peacesoul: I haven't done the lemon water yet but I will try it. I have stomach problems so I was always scared to drink it.

My supplement lady told me to stay off of the Milk Thistle while I'm doing the liver cleanse. I'm not sure why.

I'm actually cleaning out my colon while taking supplements. I take colon booster and para cleanse. Boy does it clean me out!

For anyone that is having trouble passing bowels, powdered magnesium in water is good to take for that.

Green tea causes acidosis. Your best to stick to caf free teas for now.
Funny you mention yogurt. I just had an article published about yogurt and how it's the biggest"health food" scam there is
There is not ONE benefit to yogurt. It's laced with sugar, sodium and dairy is a HUGE no no in to the body.
The dairy debate is huge, but all I can say is, dairy causes mucus and inflammation, Two culprits with illness.
get your probiotics from a cold source capsule. It's healthier and you get the daily needed dose.
You want to take a great BM a few times a day, do what Cajungrl says and take powdered magnsium. It works WONDERS.
Your colon will love you :-)

I take a prebiotic (inulin) as well as a probiotic, and the combination has helped me have a healthy elimination schedule, maybe for the first time in my life. I was eating yogurt every day to get the healthy bacteria, but I think it wasn't getting along with me, and was causing mucous. I'm still drinking decaf green tea every day; what is acidosis??? I'm looking for a source of antioxidants. If green tea isn't good, and I can't eat berries etc. because of the sugar content, what else is there?

CG, very glad to hear you are on a supplement regimen that is helping you to feel better. What a relief to be past the nausea, too!

peacesoul,

It's okay. I'd like to hear the answer too. This is pretty much a "natural" thread anyway.

ok cool,

Acidosis is when the body is too high in acid. Illness thrive in an acid environment. So it's best to keep the PH equal between acid and alkaline equal.

Green tea is a great antioxidant, but you can also take vit E and foods high in bioflavonoid to get the anti oxidant effects.

And when you have a healthy/balanced PH, there are less free radicals to kill.

Hi CG! I love your quote too! I love this forum and you seem to be the heart of it! Hope things are improving for you!

I'm in the process of getting snowed in and have plenty to do around this house, but felt the need to check in with you, since I haven't in a while. The reason for the lapses is that once I get in this forum or web in general, it's a couple hours, and other things don't get done that need to, and I'm trying to put my house into order in all the places that got neglected, from either being too busy or tired or sick. I'm also trying to get family help with this, but that is another story!

I have to admit that I am not only drinking caffeinated tea, but back on coffee, but try to stick to organic, so less harmful at least. Still feeling good, and my lymph nodes that were still slightly swollen back in the summer, seem to have gone down. I don't even know when that happened, but only noticed, because my mother-in-law mentioned another family member's lymph nodes, so I felt mine, and other than my neck being stiff from shoveling for three hours a few days before that, the lymph nodes themselves don't seem to be protruding there!

I agree that it is better to take the supplement than eating yogurt for probiotic. And while trying to get and keep yeast under control, it is best to avoid sugar and dairy. And thank you peacesoul for reminding me why to avoid the caffeine! I do try to balance it out with the herbal tea, but for the moment have been turning to coffee. Will cut back down after the holidays!

Turquoise,

Hey! I have been thinking about you and wanted to email you. I had forgotten your email address and was going to look on here for it.

I'm sooooooo glad you are feeling good! That's awesome! I bet it feels awesome to be able to clean your house. I never thought I'd ever say that, lol. I hated cleaning but now I WANT to clean!

I'm having trouble getting off of caffeine completely too so don't feel bad. It's hard when you've been drinking it for so long.

Please continue to keep us updated on how you're doing. We all love hearing good stories.

Hugs!

You and the others I "met" back in April are on my mind a lot. Also those who I haven't. My pain wasn't near what so many are going through and my treatment seemed to work quickly, considering I was bitten in 2005. Still taking the herbal stuff to be safe! I keep trying to keep my mind on the positive in everything. Counting all my blessings.

As far as the caffeine, I hate going through the withdrawal, so you would think that by now I would learn not to get back on it! But I am at least learning to limit myself.

And as far as cleaning, thanks for reminding me how it feels to not be able to! It's stressful to need to and not feel I have enough time, but there were times when I wasn't even able to so I need to be thankful for the ability to do it!

I still pray for your healing! I don't know why it takes so long for so many. I have been working in a nursing home for the elderly for 24 years, so I see suffering and pain and loneliness, and still don't have the answers for why we need to go through it. I am learning as much as I can about healing, to avoid all of this in the future, or at least lessen some of it!

dumbest question yet: Why is it bad to drink coffee but good to take coffee enemas?
