okay its the hepatic function panel- protein/creatinine ratio is 577 when it should be between 21- 161. isn't this my liver and not my kidneys? they said it was my kidneys...

Yes, this is a liver function test. Actually, it is a panel of tests. Do you remember which test was in the 500's? Here is an explanation below:

A liver (hepatic) function panel is a blood test to check how well the liver is working. This test measures the blood levels of total protein, albumin, bilirubin, and liver enzymes. High or low levels may mean that liver damage or disease is present.

The liver serves several important functions in the body, including changing nutrients into energy for the body and breaking down toxic substances.

Your doctor may order a liver function panel if you have symptoms of liver disease. These symptoms include fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, yellowing of your eyes or skin (jaundice), dark yellow urine, and feeling very tired. This blood test also may be done if you have recently been exposed to a hepatitis virus or are taking a medicine that may cause liver damage.

For more information, see the medical tests:

•Total Protein.
•Albumin.
•Bilirubin (total and direct).
•Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP).
•Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST).
•Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT).

Okay the part that is off is below the ALT part- like it's not part of the hepatic function panel- it's the "protein/total w/creatine" and then underneath it says random urine, creatinine, random urine and the part i am really high on is the "proein/creatinine Ratio whichi s supposed to be between 21- and 161 but it is 577

Is there a test for just "protein total w/creatine?" the ranges for this test are not the same as the ones mentioned on the link you gave- thank you for that, maybe this is a kidney test? b/c unde the hepatic function panel everthing looks normal- the protein total is norma, the albumin, globulin, albumin/globulin ratio, bilirubin-total, bilirubin-direct, and indirect, alkaline phosphatase, AST, and ALT. Then a new indition- shows the "protein total w/creatine" and that's where i'm way off...

finding,

Are you on treatment for Lyme Disease now? If so, you may just have a toxin overload. If not, I have no clue what could have caused it. What does your doctor say?

I take something for my kidneys called "Kidney Rescue" but I'm not sure if it would bring your kidneys back to normal again.

What is your doctor doing about this?

Oh my, so i talked with my caridologist today b/c my blood pressure is very low- not eating/drinking enough- but the nurse was kind enough to interpret my results- the test was a urine test- and apparently i had a high amount of protein in my urine. She asked me if i was eating a high protein diet and i said not really- i do eat more protein than usual- but for it to be that high in my urine is crazy- i asked if it could be coming off my musles and she said yes. So im losing protein through my urine. i'm still losing weight- and apparently my tendon spasms and internal twitching in my fingers- is a symptom of ALS. Hate to go back to it, but if protein is coming off my muscles... Has anyone else had this?
