I am back. Saw an LLMD for the first time yesterday. WOW. Well, Lyme was confirmed( i have pos western blot) and I was tested for bartonella?  Anyway, before I start new treatment I want to have everything on hand.

It is suggested I take a good probiotic. What constitutes a good probiotic?

I am very scared and had a panic attack last night as I was completely overwhelmed.
I will continue the doxy I am on but increase it to 300 mg a day and 500 mg of zithromax was added. I am worried about loose stool and nausea.

Any suggestions for a good probiotic?

Also, I need a tumeric pill.

thanks all

Of all of the probiotics I have used over the years  (even  prior to lyme dx),  I have found Udo's to be the best for me.

What dose of doxy were you on prior to upping it?

Also, why are you seeking turmeric pills? Did your doctor suggest it for you? Can you just use it alone? The reason I ask is, I have for cooking 'Simply Organic' turmeric, (very good brand) why use something else. You can buy capsules if you wanted to and make yourself or just mix whatever amount you wanted with something like chicken broth, whatever. There is alot of good information online (even wikipedia) about turmeric use. This is the link for the organic turmeric I have http://www.simplyorganicfoods.com/prodlist.php?ct=sospicesaz&i=p

Coconut oil is another strong worthwhile supplement to consider with antiviral and antibacterial properties. It should always be organic, virgin, etc. Tropical traditions is renowned for it's reputable coconut oil www.tropicaltraditions.com

Good luck - hope you feel better soon!

I agree Udo's is the best. I can't afford that brand, and found that PB-8 is also a very good probiotic that is somewhat cheaper. If you can afford the Udo's brand I would go for that. There are 2 sites that are great for supplements. Vitacost and Vitamin Shoppe.

You can also get Coconut oil there as well, I use that for everything. I use it to cook, to lather, and as a supplement

Hi Momtomonsters,

I think everybody is scared in the beginning...so in that sense welcome to the club...everybody is so different with this disease...my husband uses Align and Culturelle probiotics...he takes twice a day and also eats a low sugar yogurt as well...this combo seems to be working for him...good luck...i have been meaning to learn more about tumeric, i think it is a new wonder "drug"...stay strong.

I have had very good luck with Primadophilus from the either the grocery store or health food store where they keep it in the fridge. I take at least four of them a day and often four more when I am up in the middle of the night.

Any refrigerated probiotic is a good choice. When it is refrigerated, it keeps the bacteria alive.
