Our llmd and our naturopath have prescribed the charcoal to us at various times during our treatment. I don't know much about it, but I'll share what little I've learned. We have taken capsules and were told we could purchase any brand we found at a "health food" store. I agree that the charcoal can absorb the good stuff along with the toxins. If I remember correctly, we were to take it before going to bed, and long after our other meds. I think it is possible to take too much, which is not good, ----maybe can constipate, or cause discomfort? Check the dosage and "timing" with your doc. We did not notice much difference in our health when we use it but we are not on it continuously. I think some people really do notice a difference, and I have heard that even hospital emergency rooms have used it in certain cases, so it probably does help absorb stuff.
