Can anyone suggest remedies for muscle pain

I thought it was cuz I was sitting too often I'd get thigh pain, but now when I walk I also have thigh pain. When I stand i have thigh pain. What do I do to get rid of this pain, its most of the time there except when I am shower or sleeping. I can't be massaging it all the time cuz it looks stupid. Excerise?? i guess i should stretch. But anyone who is going through this, suggest what you did and if it worked.

Magnesium supplements, heating pad, soaking in warm epsom salt baths, gentle stretching/exercise have all been helpful for muscle pain. Also, there is a homeopathic remedy called Arnica Montana that has been helpful for some muscle pain (available at local health food stores or online). I use the oral pellets, they work better for me than the topical Arnica gel.

I get those too. For me, it feels almost like sciatica, but a little different. Starts in the butt to mid thigh. I had have back problems and had surgery so I have just been thinking it was more related to my back. But now that you mention it, I'm gonna pay closer attention. I am thinking of trying the magnesium too. Stretching is probaby a safe thing to try. I stretch out on my swiss excersize ball. One thing that helps is to sit on the ball and lean back into a backbend. Or kneel on the floor and ease into a gentle backbend (google camel yoga pose). Flexing back might help stretch the front of your thigh. Google hamstring stretches too, they might help. Hope you feel better!

The up side is that our sx's at least change around!!!! It's not usual for me to have any particular sx for very long!! That's the part that helps me to get through some of the rougher days!
It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

I just want to say that the Arnica Montana that Razzle mentioned does work. My cousin just went to a natural doctor and she suggested that to her. I tried it the other night and it really helped my pain a lot. If anyone purchases it, you need to get the one that says 6x, not 30x. If you get the 30x, you will have to take more.

Btw, I have been having bad leg pains too. The magnesium helped at the beginning but it is starting to hurt again. Something else that causes leg pain is a bladder infection and I thought I'd let you all know, just to be safe. I think that may be where my pain is coming from. I get bad bladder infections every few months.

CajunGrl,

I had no idea bladder infections could cause leg pains! Interesting! When I was given one IV dose of Vancomycin, the pain in my bladder was unbelievable from the Vanco., and it shot down both legs all the way to my toes! I had no bladder pain prior to starting the infusion...the bladder/leg pain hit about 40 minutes into the infusion... I think it must have been die-off, but wow was it painful! Thanks for the info!

No problem. I like covering all of the bases just in case someone is going through the same thing I am. It's always better to be safe then sorry.

Hi Kendal.

It's in pill form. They are little white pellets. No, I don't think she uses the cream.
