I've been on hydrocodone pills for 2 years, and recently my LLMD referred me to a pain management specialist. He added oxycodone 20 mg 2/ day. This helped for a while, but then stopped helping so much... and I didn't want to up the dose. Plus I really think the oxy was messing with my head and adding to my depression. Anyway, I weaned off slowly and today is my first full day w/o any meds.

Just wondering if anyone has a similar experience and can tell me how long the withdrawal symptoms (stomach upset, anxiety) will last?

Hi needs some z's,

How long did you actually take to wean off? Sometimes, it takes a while. If you still have bad symptoms, you may have to stay on it a bit more. I had to wean off once and was down to a tiny piece of pill untill all symptoms were gone. If I cut back and felt symptoms, I upped the dosage just a little until my body was able to tolerate me cutting it down again. Anxiety pills might help right now with the anxiety but I wouldn't take it everyday. Also, anything natural like Valerian root with skullcap in it helps relax the body.

Homeopathic Belladonna can help with the side-effects and withdrawal from narcotics.
Nux Vomica homeopathically can also help with nausea from medications/withdrawal and helps with detoxing medications.

my doctor told me I would be on pain meds rest of my life and if it wasn"t for the side effects i would just take it
and accept the fact as long as i am out of pain but i really think oxy makes me roudy and tired at the same time.

also they are constipating and who knows what else they do???? fentynol patch also gets me high and half the time
I end up popping a roxy. And then for a wake up then the adderal gets into the picture.

also I believe that roxy actually creates it's own type of pain syndrome. It's like other parts of my body get in pain on top of the lyme pain. who knows. I want off all of it.
Have you tried subutex. I see Dr. Shaller website about using it to get off of opiates for lyme people.
If you take suboxone it has the anti opiate added to it so you can NOT take any other pain meds.
Subutex is also known as buprenorphine or temgesic. google around about it.

I have tried it and loved it. It helps my mood better almost as an antidepressant it takes away the nerve type pain but it
only goes so far with the pain killling effect so if you have really terrible pain you can still pop a roxy.

so because i can't seem to get off of any of this stuff i go in circles with it and hate when I end up back with the roxy because that seems to make my personality angry.

sometime I have to wonder when i am trying to take nothing or go through these periodic detoxes from pain meds which is pain and which is detox.

You have defifintely been given an upgrade if you went from HYDRO to OXY and more doctors have problem writing for OXY than hydro. and if you are taking the one with tylenol like percocet then there is the tylenol issue.

my doctor put me on fentynol patch to get me away fro ROXY because i think it is easier on your liver and is a more steady 72 release off each patch. but I feel like I never got that timing thing down right.

right now I am babbling because I'm up in middle of night because i am trying to cut back on all this pain stuff. ha ha

So I am having withdrawl symtoms with the voice in my head having the debate about which should I take> the roxy, the subutex pill , the subutex shot version from mexico or the fentynol patch which ties me back up for another 3 days.

I actually feel like I have a lot less pain after being in my 7th week of IV treatment so what i am dealing with is WITHDRAWL pain and not LYME pain.????????

If I had to pick one med it would be the subutex. if you google about buprenorphine you will see the reason it could be great for lyme people and it is supposed to be easier to get off of than oxy or methadone but you still will have to do some detox but it may be a good low dose maintance drug for nerve pain and depression.

did ANY of that help????
hep c , lyme
Dad has lyme
