I think I have late stage lyme disease. I had confirmed Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in 1983 and lots of problems afterwards. I had a bite on the arm in 1999 with bulls-eye rash and flu like symptoms that went away after a week or two. I have almost every symptom of late stage now with extreme thinking and mind problems, chronic fatigue and insomnia and extreme weight loss and vision and hearing problems. This all started Jan 18th after a CT scan but several hours afterward. Doesn't make sense, I know, but I will have the Igenex tests hopefully within the next few days.

fireman, sorry you are suffering with what is most likely "late stage lyme disease". You've obviously been reading up on this and have learned a few things about this disease, one being that you need to be tested by Igenex. Good decision.

Do you have an appointment to be tested anytime soon or are you wanting to get a good Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) referral before you get tested? My suggestion is to get tested by a LLMD as they are the only ones who can accurately diagnose this disease.

I sent you an email with links on how to find a LLMD in your area. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

Hi fireman,

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. There are regulars on this forum that can let you know about LLMD (lyme literate doctors) in your area. My lyme also started with flu like symptoms. Had you received any treatments in the past for the rocky mountain spotted fever or lyme in 1999? What health issues were you having that prompted the CT scan? Hope you get some answers and treatment soon.
