hello! i've been on and off of this site for a few years now... and every time i come on, i like to say im sorry that i havent been on for so long... because i dont feel (too) sick anymore... and the symptoms that im left with, are just every day life for me now and i can deal with them for the most part.. haha..?
anyway, i used to come on here for hours every single day... looking for those stories that would make me think positive, and they really really helped! i promise, i am NOT saying that its a mind game... but it certainly helps to believe you will get better, and to think in a positive direction :) ... that is why im sorry that i dont come on, but just know that theres people that seriously dont remember to come on anymore... because they dont " need " to come on anymore, ya dig?
that being said, i once went on a lyme disease "retreat"... i, like everyone else there, was mid-treatment, and at the time could not control my vertigo or anxiety for the life of me, so i left early... but it was so so so soooooo great to meet people that were going through what i was going through... chatting on forums is awesome, dont get me wrong - but to actually MEET someone = priceless!
luckily (or maybe not luckily, it depends on how you look at it), because i was so sick for so long and i have a few co infections to go with my lyme... i spotted two of my close girlfriends having symptoms and they both went to my LLMD and i was right, one went through treatment and is now fine, and the other one is going through treatment and having a very rough time... so LUCKILY i totally know what shes going through and i can be there for her... and i wish i had that when i was at my worst... so im more then happy to be there for her, and tell her how much lyme stinks, and the herx will soon be over, and that its normal for all of these abnormal things... ok, im rambling because im tired, but i wanted to make sure i did this before i went to bed -
im in rhode island, id love to meet other people from around here! im sure my friends would too. doesnt matter if you have it, had it, a family member or friend has/had it... no matter what it helps to meet people and vent about it, share stories about it, yada yada...
RHODE ISLAND.. im here!
we could even become facebook friends? i donno? lets do this!
everyone else, please respond with where you are, so you can get in touch with a friendly person in your area maybe?
feel better. never give up. surround yourself with friends, family and laughter... and if your friends and family think you are crazy (it happens, i know, it happened to me) it doesnt stop you from watching a funny movie, stand up comedian, listen to awesome music... make yourself feel happy. (or just do what i did, get a tick getting exploded by pill missiles tattooed to you, it helped! made me laugh then, im still laughing at it now!) take care!
