Hi everyone,

I recently heard about a program created by Ashok Gupta (London, UK) called amygdala re-training.    It is not for lyme treatment, but it is for various things like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia etc.  I have read some of his literature, found it interesting, and am thinking about trying the program.  I am curious if anyone here has ever heard of this or tried it and if it helped?

Thanks.   Best wishes to all,    bablymers mom

Nobody has heard of this or tried it? I have one friend that has tried it and is having good results. I was hoping I could hear more opinions about it before I try it.

I asked on a couple of other HW forums, but no responses there either.

Thanks, bablymers mom

Hi Denise!

Thanks for responding. I should have remembered that you like to research and might know something about this-----should have emailed you!

Yes, I think I am going to buy the program and try doing it at home. I emailed my friend and asked her if that's how she did it and she said "yes". I plan to talk to her on the phone about the whole thing to make sure I am actually willing to do whatever the treatment involves. I still have no clue what the brain training actually involves because I have not read/watched all the info about it yet. If it still sounds good after I talk to her, I plan to try it. Then, I'll have my daughter try it too.

Believe me, if we get positive results, I will let everyone here know! How fantastic it will be to improve without drugs or even natural supplements. We are sensitive to things, so this form of treatment would be welcomed by us. I am not expecting a "cure" for lyme, but think that this would be another method of improving our overall health----just like eating right, detoxing etc. For us to become well after so many years of illness, I think we need all the help we can get! Slowly but surely, we are changing our "life style" to incorporate healthy choices. I know you have been successful at this and we are trying our best to do the same!

Best wishes to you, bablymers mom

Hi again bablymers,

I am a strong believer that our minds are a powerful tool and sometimes we need to "retrain" our minds..   When I first became sick with lyme I only believed in antibiotics...  I knew nothing about alternative medicine, detoxing, diet, etc.   I belonged to a different forum at the time and members kept talking about detox baths, coffee enema's, diet, and I kept shaking my head saying to myself "what does this all have to do with getting better from lyme?"...  It made no sense to me at that time at all..

I really have to thank those members for opening up my mind and changing my way of thinking as well as teaching me that there were other options out there..

Good luck with this program and let us know how it works out, okay?

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update. I just read an add for a local chiropractor in my area that treats fibromyalgia patients with some sort of "brain" re-setting therapy to help stop the "over-drive" of the fight and flight response that many patients are stuck in. He claims it has helped many of his patients improve. I was so surprised to read this from a Local doc (I live in a rural area), plus he says he gives a free consult to discuss it! So, I think I may give him a call and discuss his method with him and see if it is related to the Gupta method from England. Maybe I'll have a comparison of the two methods and be able to make a better decision on what to try. If any of it turns out to be useful, I'll pass on the info here. I'm thinking this "balancing" method may help support the immune system. We shall see.

Best wishes to all, bablymers mom

Hi Tallison,

I sent you an email, using the link by your name. If your friends would be willing to email me, that would be great! Thanks for responding,

The brain-resetting therapy sounds like the Bioset treatments I had by two different chiropractors.
ONe used muscle testing and the other was on a computer. Both worked amazing. I had pain, it was gone after a few sessions.
Also the homeopathy one chiro used on me worked well in keeping symptoms manageable.
Only thing is when I stopped going I found some symptoms got worse.
But some have never returned. It really does re-boot your systems so to speak.
I wasnt sure it was actually killing the lyme and coinfections but it made me feel better.
I am using herbs and homeopathy and vits and baths now by a trained homeopath to kill the buggies.
This is working as well. Just not as fast.
PLease let us know more about those brain resetting therapies. I'm curious if its similar to what I've had.
