Hey scorpio,

Standard treatment is usually an antibiotic, more than likely Doxycycline, for six weeks or longer. Up to 400mg is usually taken a day, but it is up to the LLMD on what they think is best. I'd also be worried about co-infections.

Thanks CG. Whether she will listen or not is another story....people can be so ignorant at times and I guess I was one of them.

Hi

I just wanted to say that I have heard from my LLMD and from other Lyme educated folks that Lyme CAN be pretty easy to treat if you catch it right away. It`s quite possible she could go on six weeks of antibiotics and never really feel too crappy. Just a little ray of hope for you :)

Hi scorpio,

I agree with the above. I think if it was my friend, I would also suggest that after the initial antibiotic treatment, it would be wise to treat with an alternative method such as Dr Jernigan's protocol----just to help be sure that everything is addressed right away and hopefully for good! (kind of like an "insurance policy" to hit all the germs right away).

Best wishes to you and your friend,
bablymers mom
