I've been having eye pain in my right eye for a while now, I've had it before and now it's back. Anyone know what this could be? Also, it has appeared with the pressure on the right side of my neck, that's back too now. Any suggestions/comments?
Thanks, KO

Are you on any treatment(s) now? If so, it could be a herx. If not, it could be the Lyme coming back... or could be something unrelated...

Maybe a chiropractor or neck massage therapy could help? I know when I get my headaches, I go get my neck rubbed and it sure feels good and helps the headache go away sooner.

Also, with the eye pain I've experienced, it may come from allergies. Some pollens really get me good. I had to get antihistamine eye drops because even the prescription Patanol (mast cell stabilizer) eye drops were doing nothing for the eye pain and irritation from allergies. Now I use homeopathic eye drops and they seem to make a lot of difference for me whenever my eyes are upset about something (eyelash in the eye, allergies, dryness, eye strain, etc.). I get them at a local health food store - the eye drops are called "Optique 1"

I hope this helps - take care,

Hi KO-LD,

My daughter and I get eye pain too. We have always thought it was due to the lyme/coinfections. It comes and goes at will. My friend, who also has lyme coinfections, gets eye pain from being hyperthyroid. (Her neck swells too, but mostly in front). I guess different things can cause eye pain so I would ask your llmd or eye doc for their opinions. I hope you improve soon.

Best wishes to you, bablymers mom

I get eye pain as well... also double vision nearly everyday. I see little things sometimes that seem to swim around in my eyes. Do you get that too? My doc seems to think we are seeing the spirocettes in our eyes. Hmmm I don't know but it sure makes sense to me.

Be sure to share this with Dr. David or Jowdy, whoever your doctor is, as this is important for them to know. Sounds like neurological lyme to me.

This is interesting. I get this sharp pain like in my sinus's and in & behind my right eye. It's weird because is usually happens only in evening.  I have always thought it is lyme or bartonella.

Cindy lou hoo,

 >"I see little things sometimes that seem to swim around in my eyes."

I have always had these little things I can see in my eyes,  The eye dr. says they are called floaters.  They are from broken blood vessels if I remember correctly.  They are not dangerous.  If you have lyme or infection in eye you could have an increase in floaters in your eyes.  But please follow up with eye dr., eyesight is nothing to mess around with!

Pepphell

The sleeping thing is interesting. I have noticed that my headache/eye  pain goes away after I sleep as well...weird.

On this note, I went to the eye doctor for my annual eye exam today, I wear glasses.  I asked her about the eye pain and headaches and she said that it was probably from pressure.  But everything checked out perfectly fine! It's amazing that I was able to go to a Dr. appt. and get good news. :-)

great expectations,

another explanation for it could he high thryoid. (as was the case with me, lyme is one f'ed up disease).

i dont wear glasses and i've never been to a doctor until i got major lyme arthritis so that iw as almost disabled. in any case the eye thing is interesting with sleep.

i've realized sleep and rest is the best medicine for lyme. cuz i was resting for last month and i got well. now ia m stressed at work and doing all kinds of work around the house, and lyme is just causing bone pain and headahce and massive twitching.

Get a GOOD eye doctor for a COMPLETE exam. I just went through this. The rx for my glasses has definitely changed, but all other dx's were eliminated. Yes, I do believe almost all problems stem from the Lyme especially in youngrer patients.

Best of luck for a speedy "eye" recovery.

I noticed sleep always helps most symptoms. Maybe sleeping and breathing more slowly in sleep relaxes everything and calms the nerves.
Sometimes I get stabbing pain in my right eye like someone is sticking a needle in it. Then it just goes away. Never thought it was the Lyme,
but now I'm not so sure.

I'm thinking my eye pain is more bartonella than lyme. I have recently had a horrible flare of the bart symptoms and the eye pain, frontal headaches are back. Haven't found much that helps but it seems to come and go, so at least that's good!

Yup! I was told I had optiv nueritis~ I was blind for 1 week then told i had MS~

I tested Posotive for Babeisa last year and Have a LLMD~

I still have eye pain and at times when they thought it was ms they said my optic nerve was flared up~ yet others said they saw nothing!

When my eyes get really bad as in blur pain i use to use steriod drops. but my llmd gave me antibiotic drops 2 kinds~ They help~ they burn like its eating something off my eye? steriods didnt even do that to them.

i would speak to your lymes doc!

Big Hug~ hope it ease up on you!
