I've been taking the medication for Lymes for about 2 years. Usually the doctor has me on Doxycycline. I can never seem to get my tounge to be pink. I take acidophilus and everything, but my tounge just always seems to be white. Any advice for getting back the pink tounge?

Do you brush your tongue when you brush your teeth?

It could also be toxin release through your tongue. Do you use any of the detox methods mentioned in the thread for those new to Lyme at the top of this forum? If not, you might find one or more of those to be helpful...

Have you tried an anti-fungal mouth rinse?

Take care,

White tongue is usually a sign of yeast. Has your LLMD given you any anti-yeast medication? There's a natural medicine (botanical) that my wife took for yeast and it cleared it up in a week.

This is what she used http://abc.eznettools.net/jernigannutraceuticals/yeast-ease.html

This was the only product in many years of suffering with yeast issues that finally took care of it.

If you don't care to use natural medicine for this, tell your LLMD what's going on and he/she will prescribe you some Nystatin or Diflucan.

Take tons of probiotics in the morning when you first get up and before you go to bed. Some people open a probiotic capsule and put it in their mouth and brush with tooth brush to get the flora back in your mouth.

Hope these ideas help.

Gary

Kefir is another great way to keep things nicely balanced in the gut. I can usually be found in the same section as yogurt, or in the "natural products" area of larger grocery stores.
It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

I use a clotrimazole troche once a day, they disolve in your mouth for yeast. You will need a prescription for this. Also brush your teeth and tongue with listerine 3 x a day. Another thing to try is to open up a probiotic capsule and pour it in your mouth, keep it in there as long as you can, hope this helps.

This is yeast. And very easy to treat. Nystatin is what was prescribed for me. With all that yeast on your tonge, you've more than likely have it in your stomach too. I was told to cut out all sugar for two weeks and take the nystatin, then reintroduce small amounts of sugar. Sugar is bad all the way around. Tho it just loves to find it's way in my mouth, I try to cut down on it.
Hope this helps.
