So much fun reading since the last time I checked in.

Willowrose,

What a wonderful idea with the seeds. I enjoyed reading your post…all the descriptive words you used…I could imagine it.

That sounds like so much fun (cheaper and easier too). God's creation is so therapeutic… "catching" the glory.

I really liked your sentence, and it is so appropriate, "It's kind of like slow motion fireworks." But even better (in my opinion)…I mean, who can beat God's fireworks?!

So what's the latest on that one plant you've been watching all summer?

Your experience of the sunset for SEVERAL HOURS does sound spectacular. As much as I am blessed by an ocean sunset…believe it or not…Oklahoma has some amazing sunsets….Like those cowboy paintings where the sky is going on forever, almost like rolling waves of rose and orange and purple colors. It's WOW!

rosesinjanuary,

(So we got Willowrose, rosesinjanuary, and daisy…well, we do got the flowers covered)

As you see from this thread, I for one, do hold down a job. Thank God I'm not working as many hours as I was before this thread…and that's a good thing!

I love the sound of the ocean. Recently, I've been reading about essential oils and aromatherapy…what in the world has gotten in to me? LOL That sounds so crazy…but I really believe there is something to it. My grandmother's house had a specific smell. I really liked that smell. Not very often, but every once in a while, I will go somewhere (maybe an antique store or second hand store) and I will smell it. The smell brings back all kinds of wonderful childhood memories.

Hippie Hiker Chick,

Due to water damage in my car (mold and mildew…until the problem is totally rectified)…I've been driving with my windows down. I really like it. Feels so fresh with the wind blowing every which way but loose…so that is my idea of a convertible. LOL.

Lookin not like…oh yeah…that's good. Yeah, rosesinjanuary…vanity lives here…well, you know that saying, "If the barn door needs painting, paint it." So I do!

OK, I just finished reading the rest of what you wrote…and I am seriously LOL with tears rolling down my face. All you said was great plus, "I pray in tongues too sometimes, which is really zen-ful." "Zen-ful" ha ha...that is too funny. Still laughing.

spingsjean

Perhaps my most favorite place to be is sitting on the beach. Will be doing that soon visiting family in Florida in October and looking forward to it.

I found a webcam of a beach we visited…and I actually watch it from time to time. I can't believe it…the sun is going down and people choose that exact minute to leave…I can see them pick up there stuff, turn around and walk away…they just ignore the sunset. WOW, I guess a person can even take a gorgeous sunset for granted.

roses and more roses, me too, I like to pick around second hand stores. I find it relaxing and interesting…never know what you're gonna find.

vicparis

I haven't been on this thread for a while…are you doing better? Mamyou, so glad you responded to vicars.

Mamyou,

This thread has been liberating to me, too. It's helped me so much! I am so thankful that I am back to living, really living, and enjoying life again.

OK, so for me, lately, I've been listening to music more and really enjoying it a lot. Worship music is very relaxing. Although I also put music on and dance or exercise (which is really the same thing in my book)…and that helps too.

Blessings!

Think happy thoughts, oh, and also, while you're at it...breathe deep.

Hey, Daisy, I'm glad you resurrected this thread; it's an ever-appropriate topic. I did want to update you on the crazy foleage that suddenly sprung up after lingering for a couple of months as puny seedlings. It's now nearly November, and we still gaze with anticipation at it every time we are in the courtyard. The leaves are large and broad and a deep green, and they now totally block the light to our lovely azalea with which they share a pot. (Guess some pruning is in order.) We diligently fed "it" all summer long, and still no blossoms! We only planted flowers, so we know it's a flower of some sort. Maybe this firecracker is a dud! Evaluating our garden now that the season is nearly over, the most spectacular performer this year has been the begonia. Usually we get five or six luscious buttery yellow blossoms from it, but for some reason this year it decided to bless us with dozens - for more than a month now. Beautiful! It makes me smile every day.

Hey Rose...Daisy here (I do like saying that...Ha!)

So glad for the update.  "Firecracker a dud"...go figure.  Put a smile on my face and I'm chuckling.  I must admit nothing beats God's creation.

OK, so what helps with stress?

I gotta be real here friends...Talking with my God because...no one knows like Him, no one cares like Him, no one is always there like Him, and when I talk with Him...I'm always glad I did!  No one relieves stress like Him.

Have a great day...ummmm....I mean, life...in spite of Lyme!!!  yeah

Past time to post on this thread!

I am soooo looking forward to the "dance of the fireflies".  Not yet showed up, but last night I walked around our property looking for them.  Should be any day now.

Walking relieves stress.

I saw them tonight! Yes, the fireflies are back. Enjoy your life...it will do wonders for the healing path you're on.

So....what are you doing to relieve stress?

Fireflies definitely back here in SW Pennsylvania. Strawberries are ripe and plentiful in the patch. Garden not where it should be because of the April and May rains. Haven't been on here in awhile and I see there are several new members. Welcome....but I'm sorry you have this illness and have a need for the information.

Thank you, daisyrlb, for bringing this thread back to life....

Hi Mamyou...just seeing your name brings up memories of some of your past posts...some funny ones like "big person's panties" LOL. Seriously, you have a gift for communicating.

So...de-stressor...

Tonight we went downtown and walked along the Riverwalk. Ahhhhhhhh

Thanks, daisyrlb, I hope to get back on here someday when things calm down. There just isn't enough of me to go around. Had a bad encounter with Minocin and I'm still wondering why....Couldn't take Doxy either. Waiting to see what's next. Yes, daisy, I've pulled up my big girl's panties and am going to try something else!!!!

It's still wonderful to have to forum here when I need it most!!!

Good to hear from you, Mamyou!! I'm really sorry to hear that you are still feeling poorly. Please do let us know how you are doing, only as you are up to it of course.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread Daisyrib!

Saw my first firefly (lightnin' bug here!) just last night!! Although I have to admit that my wild strawberry patch got too water logged to produce much. :-(

We finally have a garden!! I have finally been able to get out in some of the heat without getting quite ill! YIPPEE!!! Oops, sorry I yelled that! I got too excited - giggle!

Mamyou,

Good to see you. Pray you're on the right healing path real soon. Look forward to seeing you when "things calm down". "BGP" make a big difference as we know. ;)

Traveler,

Thanks for sharing about spotting your first firefly recently. They are amazing bugs. Sorry about your strawberry patch. Glad your garden is going good...what you growing?? Hey, YIPPEE is a word that just hasta be yelled. :)

Another thing I enjoy doing that is relaxing, relieves stress, is writing...I keep a journal write lots of stuff (got a box full)...Here is a simple poem I wrote a few days ago. I guess I'll title it,

"The Only Bug I Like"

The fireflies are everywhere.
Darting here and glowing there.

In the yard near the creek.
In the grass along the street.

The only bug I even like,
Is the tiny fly who shines its light.

Lord Jesus, this is my daily prayer,
To shine Your Light…everywhere!

Oh man, you guys are all so great!

I am totally shallow. To relieve stress I watch some pretty junky TV shows!! Not the totally degrading ones, just the cheerful, well meaning ones. I find myself grinning like an idiot at some of them.

Something about TV -- when I'm not feeling well or not coping -- I can get totally lost in the story or just the pretty colors flickering by. My body relaxes and I am totally relieved. Until my husband comes in and wants to watch the ball game!

I know what you mean, Achieving - those ball games aren't the most relaxing thing in my book either!!!

Daisyrib, I would like to thank you for making sure this thread stays active!! It is greatly appreciated!!! yeah

Although it's been a couple of months now (another YIPPEE!!!), when I was having a really bad day, I would sit in front of the tv as well. I just had to zone out for the day, because I knew that most likely tomorrow would be different for me, and if not tomorrow, then surely the next day would be different! Fortunately, as long as I stay smart (LOL! tongue) I think I am going to continue to have basically good days & even better days now!!!

So, in my garden so far I have growing tomatoes, garlic, zucchini, sugarbaby watermelon, Iriquois melon (a type of cantaloupe), regular cantaloupe, Sweet banana peppers and anaheim peppers. I will be planting lettuce indoors today or tomorrow!

Of course I will be planting for a fall crop as well this year! smilewinkgrin

Something else that now gives me great joy is watching my baby goats (kids) play and finally getting to get back to milking my mamma goat (Nanny). This actually gives me a great sense of peace and it's so fulfilling knowing that I am able to provide these few healthy extras in our diets!!

Alternate nostril breathing and I take ashwaganda twice a day. Otherwise the rage would be out of control.

I was sharing this thread with a friend and thought it was time for me to come back and re-read it. I'm so glad I did. What a JOY!

Achievinggrace, glad you find relief in TV. It is relaxing to watch a good movie, or fun and funny to watch a comedy. Relaxing and laughing is a great combination.

Traveler, How is your garden going? The fresh fruits and veggies. Nothing tastes better than your own fresh fruits and veggies. Ahhh the JOY received from the fruits of your labor. Your mouth thanks you. :)

And now you have baby goats and milking...that does sound peaceful...getting back to nature...getting back to a less hurried life style.

Ziva, Glad you are getting relief from the rage. How you doing these days?

Well, as I re-read this thread I'd have to say, where I am right now, the thing that struck me was what Betterhealth said...about "Scratching all non-essential items from my schedule." Yup, that is my plan!

Have a great day and evening...enJOY life in this minute. We'll be so glad we did.

Blessings and hugs to all!

BTW, what are you doing to relieve stress these days???
