My 2 year old developed a rash on her leg that is circular shaped, but does not have a defined bulls eye dot in the center.  The following day, the ring on her leg got darker, but still no defined bulls eye dot in the center.  I took her to the doctors that day and she started on antibiotics in case of lyme's disease.  The following day, after only two doses of antibiotics in her system, another rash appeared on her other leg that looks the same, but still no defined bulls eye dot in the center.  Is this even lyme's disease????  It it not poison ivy nor a mosquito bite.  We live in the state of Virginia and cases of lyme disease has risen tremendously in the last couple of years due to high level of ticks from the deer population.
Wondering if this is officially lyme disease?  The rash is a faint pink/red color.  It isn't as dark as the ones you see on images from the internet or tv.  Thanks for any advice/help!

Hi cmatter6,

Take a picture of the rash and put a coin next to it to give it size definition. Just because it doesn't have a clear center, does not mean that it isn't a lyme rash. Since another rash has come out since being on the antibiotics, I'd be really concerned about Lyme Disease since that is sometimes what it does. You really need to bring her in to see a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor so that she can be treated right and not have to deal with this when she gets older.
