I was wondering if anyone else has this symptom, My jaw feels like its numb but not tingiling, and like a dry feeling its so irratating I find I keep moving my lips its like dry mouth but really bad with weird sensations and numbness almost like someone put a sticky substance in my mouth.then i get slight tingling, I can't really explain the symptom probarly its hard to describe....Please if you get this symptom tell me about it...

Secondly, I have been on antibiotics for 3 weeks now and can't say that I have experienced a herx, does that mean I am not getting cured. Has anyone not experienced a herx and gotten better...

A herx is just die off of toxins. If you are detoxing properly, you may not experience a herx, or at least not a very bad one.

Before anyone can tell you if you might not be on a strong enough dose of abx- you will need to tell us what abx. you are taking, how many mgs each time you take it & how often you take it.

I have experienced a lot of different places on my body being numb to different 'levels', including my jaw. Sometimes it feel as if only the top layers of skin are numb, while at other times it feels like I just came out of the dentists office with my whole lower jaw area numb. But I have numbness that travels to all parts of my body, fortunately not everywhere at once though!!! giggle!
It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

I have had numerous different types of facial pain, numbness and tightening of my jaw. For years, they told me it was anxiety, before lyme diagnosis of course. I now get it over my eye and on side of face. This disease is one of the most baffling things youwill ever encounter.

I have experienced constant numbness in my face for the past six months. It varies in intensity and seems to be worse when I have caffine or am stressed. I had bells palsy last summer when I was in the hospital, half my face was completely paralyzed. It resolved quickly after a few weeks of antibiotics. I now experience neuropathy in over 75 percent of my body. I have been feeling very sick the past two months while on antibiotics. At first I had thought it was a herx response but now I believe that it may be the antibiotics making me feel ill.

I agree with springsjeans comment: This disease is one of the most baffling things you will ever encounter.

Good luck with your treatment.
