Hi,
I am looking at my blood results and I see my IgM reads positive +35 <18 au/ml
IgG negative

What does this mean please help me translate it, what does it mean when IgG is negative?

Thanks in advance

Hi samoahmad,

If your IGM is postive, that means that you have a recent active infection. IGG stands for a past infection, although some people seem to have Lyme antibodies show up positive on IGG too and have symptoms.

So does that mean I was bitten recently, or got infected recently? Or have I had lyme for a while?

Yes, i agree with springsjean. Did you get this tested through Igenex? If so, can you post your results?

IGG normally means a past infection....meaning that no past infection of Lyme Disease was found, but the test is sometimes unreliable, so it's hard to go by just that.

If you could post the results, I would be able to better understand everything.

The result you posted looks like an ELISA Lyme titer test result, not a western blot result... Are you sure they did a western blot?
