I'm going to my step moms house and to my Mother-in-Laws house for Christmas Eve. This year will be the first year without my Godmother and the 2nd Christmas withough my dad. It's gonna be a hard one but I think I'll be okay. I made it this far. For Christmas, we will be staying home and enjoying our family. This is the first Christmas that we stay home.

I wish everyone here a non-stressed, no hassle, beautiful Christmas!!!

Good for you CG!! It sounds like wonderful plans!!

Our big plans just got canceled today because we just got a statement from the National Weather service for freezing rain/ sleet/ up to 1" of snow.

The snow doesn't scare either on of us (It does scare a surprising amount of people here though!) - but.... the freezing rain sure does!!!

So we will miss out on the festivities with our children which were to be held on Christmas Eve. We thought we would be recovering from the trip on Christmas Day, so no plans were made.

It's not all bad - this will be our first quiet Christmas at home spent with just the two of us - we've always been away from home during this time of year.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everyone!

I'm staying home this year. Traveling has become too risky with my severe gluten sensitivity - last year was a gluten-filled disaster at my in-laws', from which it took me 4-5 months to recover.

My step-son got in the other night, and we still have a 21 yr old at home.  So should be fun.  My wife always cooks a standing rib roast on Xmas eve.  We've done family gifts for kids/gkids since finances are tight.  But we've done pretty well.

We were thinking, "Man, it'd be nice to see the gkids for Xmas".  But ... they are all coming down with the flu ... and it's a nasty one  shocked    So there's something to say for staying home.

Hope everyone enjoys the holidays.  Stay safe so we can help each other thru another year!

Traveler- Snow huh? I only wish we'd see some here. It was over 70 today and tomorrow it's supposed to be cooler. I sure hope so because I'm going to the doctor then going shopping. I feel alot better when it's cool.

Jennie- Happy one year to you and your boyfriend! Wishing you both a happy holiday.

Razzle- Im sorry to hear that you have to stay home. It really upsets me that some cannot get out on Christmas because they are so sick. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Agmaar- Awwwww, that is so sad that your grandkids have the flu. I hope they get to feeling better soon and y'all can do something with them. I have a 21 year old at home too.

Our son is home from college. My mom and dad are taking all of us (23)to a restaurant that is open Christmas eve. Christmas day remains a mystery should I bake a ham? have steak? God forbid go to the chinese restaurant thats open Christmas day? LOL my laziness (Or fatigue) amazes even me sometimes. Whatever u do I hope u have fun and don't get sick.

Cajun Girl, you may not speak of your warm temps!!! PA is having the 8th coldest December on record. 70 degrees sounds like HEAVEN.

Nobody said Lymies always use the best judgment. In an effort to get it in before the end of the year, I HAD to sit through the dentist and three fillings Tuesday evening. Very stressful even though it wasn't horrible. You can guess what kind of shape I was in yesterday (in bed most of it....) and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to pull off the next couple days????? Having said that, this will pass and there will be better days.

Trav, they have changed our prediction for snow/ice Friday night into Saturday. Do you think weatherperson is lying or that we'll all be spared bad weather???? Can't blame folks for not travelling in ice....Enjoy your and hubby's togetherness!!!!

We have been invited to my sister-in-law's for a wonderful Christmas dinner. What's more special, I can see her house from mine....Dinner security even if it does snow!

Merry Christmas to all of us. May the new year supply us the answers and the health we are seeking.

hello everbody...im new here.

merry christmas.

i hope the holiday and new year brings joy and healing to all.

our season, here in the west (rocky mountains), is unusually warm 45*, flooding, with some record snow fall- 90"- in the high country. very different. la nina pattern.

having already had holiday visit with my daughter and her family, xmas morning, we go to my son's for breakfast... the rest of the day is ours.

having been AVID hikers (until lymes), we usually go run the dogs on the trails around the ski resort nearby. it's the simple things we always do... that make it special.

i made indoor tents for the gkids.... they turned out fun.

I am at my dad's on Long Island. He is in hospitol because he fell and broke hip but the good news is my sister's and I are fixing up the whole house. He had 6 lamps with dead light bulbs and his stove is messed up so we are getting a new one. by the time he gets home from rehab the whole place will be painted and his new bedroom will be in the dining room so no up and down stairs. So My Dad is getting extreme makeover for Christmas.

Wow Bucci!!!
That sounds like such a great big gift of love for your Dad!!! I do hope however that you don't overdo!!

Cajungrl, I'm with Mamyou!!nono It is in no way proper for you to speak of such temps!!! My mom & brother live in Az & tease me all winter long about their lovely temps!! Although I do get even in the summer time!! devil

Mamyou, I think they are just guessing most of the time anyway!!! Seems like it would be the perfect job for a Lymie with Lyme-induced arthritis like me!!! giggle!! smilewinkgrin

Right now our temps are holding at 36 degrees, we reached our high for the day at 9 a.m. We may not get the ice, but the day isn't over yet either!!!
