I actually found a Lyme Literate Doctor here in Montana. I had heard that there was a doctor in a city about 150 miles from where I live that took Lyme seriously, but I found her on the web and she specializes in tick-borne illnesses. She does her testing through Igenex and uses a combination of naturopath and standard Lyme treatments. I'm calling to schedule my appointment today! May this, please, be the beginning of my healing.
PEACE!!

Congrats!! Bbcoach!! That's such great news!!!

Since it was so difficult for you to find a LLMD there, I was wondering if you would mind sending me an email with this docs' info? That way we can have it available to other members looking in Montana.
~Thanks!!

YEAAAAA is right !!!!

There's always hope. Please let us know how it goes with her. And don't forget to take your symptom history log and long list of questions. Ask her if she does phone appointments and will take email questions. This helps when they're so far away! I can email my doc and she responds faster than calling her office and having to leave a message.

Good luck!!!

I found a lady naturopath in bozeman Mt that treats tick born infections and trained with Dr R in new York city via the physicians training program within the international lyme and associated diseases society. She believes in incorporating conventional treatment along with natural to have the best outcome.
I have recently made an appointment with her.

Hi sharnjn,

Welcome to the forum.

So glad to hear that you have found an LLMD in Montana. They sound like a rare thing in a vast land!

I did have to remove the name and phone number, however. We don't use doctor's names on the forum. We do share information offline -- that can be done by enabling your email option in your profile.

Thanks for posting!

Hi there, I have recently joined this forum and saw this post. We live in Alberta but more than willing to travel to see a LLMD for my son. Please let me know of any success and who I should contact.

Thank you so much

Could you please send me the name and city of the montana doctor that specializes in Lyme disease? I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but im suspecting an underlying cause and would like to pursue Lyme with someone who knows about diagnosing the disease.

Hi Kellera!
Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us.

If you haven't yet, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. And this is another good list of possible detoxing routines: www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html Detoxing for us is an incredibly important part of our healing.

For information on finding an ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) trained Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons. You can enable your email option in your profile, under 'edit profile'. Be sure to click the submit button to actually save your preference.

You can send me an email by clicking on my screen name or the small blue envelope under my screen name. I may have contact information for some LLMD's in your area as well. Please include your state (or province) and area that you would like to find a LLMD in and I will be happy to share the names I have.

You can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at medicalinfo@tbdalliance.org for LLMD referrals and you can go to tbdalliance.org to learn more about these infections.

You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:
www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74

ILADS has their own referral system as well:
ilads.org/ilads_media/physician-referral/

And a new resourcewww.LymeDoc.org

You will want to find a well trained doctor, not one that has self proclaimed themselves as a LLMD or an ID Doc (Infectious Disease Doctor), as ID docs believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. Go to the ILADS site to read the new (2014) Treatment guidelines to get you started on your healing journey:
www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf
Herb only treatment for Lyme & Bart ended 12/11 - no active symptoms for 2 yrs -Herb only treatment for Babesia ended 12/12
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=2977364
Had Lyme, Bart, Babs, RMSF, Ehrlichia, Myco, Anaplasmosis, EBV
New Lyme case 8/2014 - Healed 1/31/15 - unknowingly had Asymptomatic Babs and Asymptomatic Bart, being treated now though (2/2016)

Just FYI that you resurrected a thread that was started almost seven years ago. The last person to comment before you was last seen on the site in October of last year.

Welcome to our community, Tickhelp.

As The Dude Abides mentioned this is an older thread. The person who posted about the LLMD in Montana hasn't been back to the forum for several years...and his email isn't enabled.

I read on one post that there is a Facebook page called "Invisibly Lyme Montana" - you could contact someone that way.

I do have a couple of options in Montana - I believe they are both ND's - I don't know if they only offer herbal protocols...or if ND's in Montana can also be licensed to prescribe antibiotics.

If you're interested in those names...send me an email. Might be worth giving them a call.
To email me...click on the envelope below my screen name on the left.

You can also contact ILADS for some LLMD suggestions:

ilads.org/ilads_media/physician-referral/

Keep checking back...you may find someone from Montana posting tomorrow.

Hi kchope - welcome!

I do have a LLND listed for Bozeman. But there is a note on it - a review from someone and it's not a good one.

I also have a LLND listed for Missoula.

If you're interested, send me an email.
You could also email yakingmom (on this thread) - her email is enabled.
