I just ask my dr. about being nervous about relapsing when I eventually stop antibiotics. She said I should not relapse if I am treated long enough. She said we will taper off and then go to natural antibiotics. I think you will be fine. Sometimes it gets the bacteria to come out of hiding then you can zap them again. Best of luck to you. Feel better.

You can't relapse if you haven't gotten to the point of remission...

You haven't been treating that long. Your Dr. wanting you to take a break so you don't herx too badly is NOT a bad thing. You seem to question everything your Dr. says/does...if you aren't comfortable with him/her why not find someone who you are comfortable with? Many people have explained to you that this is NOT a sprint. You are looking at possibly years of treatment, depending on how long you have been sick. I understand you want to get well quick, don't we all...but that isn't how Lyme is.

My suggestion to you is to go through on this board and the other and READ all the info others have posted. Look at the links. See what people are doing, read blogs, etc. I think you will get a clearer picture of what you are in for and may get your questions answered. Also, have some faith in your Dr. If he/she is truly a LLMD, they will do the best they can based on your case.

Lymie20, me too. I found out that my doctor's office is no longer doing infusion services. I have incurred problems in the office that have been that of communicational neglect. I'm disappointed. They will probably pull the IV on May 19, after this it's in God's hands.

I'm at a point of giving up now. I've read so much about this illness, positive and negative about continuing abx. treatment and I believe it's an individual thing.

Working on my health; supplements and juicing, with hope of easing my aches and pain especially in my legs. It's difficult even walking without legs giving out.

Looking into another doctor; LD now.

Sorry you and I are experiencing this. Hugs to you. Hope it gets better for you!

I think your doctor has your best interest at hand. I agree that you should trust him/her more so that you can start healing. It is very important to trust your doctor and be able to communicate your concerns with them. Maybe sit down and have a talk with them as to why they want you to wait a week before you start treatment again. I'm sure your doctor has a good reason for doing this.
