Dr. S in Northern Virginia is very good and I see him, but does not take insurance and you will pay quite a bit to get started. However, he is very progressive and does differnt modalities such as Hyperbaric Oxygen and other stuff which mnake s a difference. Dr. J. in Germantown, MD does take insurance and will work with you to go after it hard. If I need to change, I will consider him, but I am in Northern Fairfax Coiunty and need more convenience right now

Hi bumblesunshine,

Here is more information to help you find a good doctor. Make sure that the doctor you go to is Lyme Literate and is associated with ILADS. they will know more about this disease and how to treat it.

For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:
phassan@optonline.net

If you'd like more doctor suggestions, you can email stephanie at: stephanie@turnthecorner.org You can also go to: www.turnthecorner.org/bod.htm if you want to learn a little bit more about Lyme Disease.

You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link: www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74

You will want to find an ILADS(International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey. www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/treatment_guidelines_clearing_ilads.html

I was seeing Dr. J in Germantown and he was good but after 2 years I needed a change.  I am going to The J Specialty Clinic in Washington, DC.  And what a big difference.  Try to get in.  Ther is ually a 3 month waiting list but worth it.

I drive from NC to see Dr.J in Washington D.C., it's well worth it. I was there a few days ago, and the wait list to have an appointment with him was completely full for the next 4 months. However, you have the option to see a nurse practitioner instead (which, obviously, costs less too). -DO IT! She is extremely intelligent and thorough, she L-I-S-T-E-N-S to what you have to say, and runs everything by Dr. J. Also, he still comes into the room to meet with you and to go everything.

Good Luck, I hope you find the road to healing soon.

Hi all,
Could someone send me the full name of Dr. J? I was diagnosed with lyme on Monday, but have suspected that I was infected for about a year now. I live in the DC area and am looking for someone with extensive experience working with abx and other methods. I am thinking of seeing Dr. S in Nothern Virginia as well, but am pretty sure I know his contact information. Any information would be much appreciated. :)
My email is claire.badgley@gmail.com.
Thanks!
