Hi... I have had numerous symptoms since 2004, the worst being extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, difficulty concentrating, and joint pain (knees and pelvis). Diagnosed with CFS in 2007 with no followup plan.

I would like to find a LLMD in either CT or MA to review my history and determine if in fact I may have Lyme disease.  The original test (ELISA) came back negative so the Dr went on to his next possible cause.

Central CT or Central MA would be best.

Thanks.

Hi Seb!
Welcome to the forum!! I am so very sorry that you have a need to be here, but I am sure glad that you found us! I'm sure you will find us to be a caring, understanding and helpful group!!

Tests for Lyme and other tick-borne infections (TBI's) is extremely unreliable still and the ELISA is one of the most unreliable tests.

If you haven't already, it would be beneficial for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled, "New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information and informative links that have been put together by our members here! We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts.

For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:phassan@optonline.net

You can email Stephanie at: stephanie@turnthecorner.org You can also go to: www.turnthecorner.org/bod.htm if you want to learn a little bit more about Lyme Disease.

You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74

You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor, as opposed to an Infectious Disease doctor - the treatment that they use is not based on scientific evidence, but mainly on "expert opinion" - go figure. The ILADS site is another great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey. www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/treatment_guidelines_clearing_ilads.html

Once again welcome!!! yeah Please do let us know how things are going and feel free to ask questions of us!! smilewinkgrin

I break up my post because my eyes have been effected by TBI's as well, which makes long paragraphs very hard to read.

I'm seeing an LLMD in Bridgeport CT who seems pretty good. I also see a pair of naturopathic doctors in Guilford, CT who I really like and who have been quite helpful (they do herbal remedies and RIFE as treatment). Feel free to send me a message if you want contact info for either/both of them.

Thank you aviva143 and Jeminij. I have made an appointment with Dr M in Glastonbury, CT for August 25th. He comes highly recommended and is near my location. I will let everyone know how I make out. Thanks.

-Seb, I editied out the name of the doctor you mentioned. We don't post doctor's names here. We don't want them to attract any notice that could prevent their being able to treat Lyme. Thanks.

Hi aviva. I noticed you mentioned naturopathic doctors in Guilford, Ct. I will be moving there in April and have problems with pelvic pain. Would you tell me something about them and what they do? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi IWillBbetter,

This is a pretty old post that you've picked up. Aviva hasn't been seen on the forum for a good eight months.

If you would like to see if anyone knows of a a naturopathic doctor in CT, you could start a new thread asking that in the subject line.

Hope you find the help you need!
