Hi All,

A while back a wrote asking if anyone had tried Earthing and what their experiences were like.  Didn't get much of a response, but wanted to follow up with my personal experiences.

I went ahead and bought the small mat, not the 1/2 sheet like I planned on buying.  My husband is fussy and I didn't want to invest in something that would go on his side of the bed too that he could complain about.  The mat is only about 10" x 20".  I place it under my pillow (I am a side sleeper) so this works well for me.  I place my hand on top of the mat, but under my pillow.  You are suppose to have direct skin contact with the mat, or sheet.  Here is what I have experienced.

I definitely noticed that I am sleeping more deeply, and I usually can go back to sleep if my cat wakes me up pawing at the door (for me this is a really big deal, I have a really big problem falling asleep, staying asleep, and not feeling rested).

I have been falling asleep much faster, and I think I'm getting to the REM part of sleep.

I am not tossing and turning like I normally do, I have awaken in the same position that I fell asleep in.  Also, I haven't had a problem with the hip pain that was stopping me from getting to sleep in the first place.

Also, something I didn't expect I have noticed that my congestion which is off the charts this year with my allergies is much less severe since I started Earthing.  I can actually breathe when I'm laying down!

I will continue to Earth as part of my routine.

KO

Please do continue to post about your experiences with earthing! This is something that anyone can do - even without purchasing the mat!

I'm still looking for your specific u-tube video, but I have watched a few of the David Wolfe vids on it!!

Hey KO-LD!
Glad I stumbled on this post, it seems pretty interesting. I'm digging around but can't seem to find anything about how the mats work as a substitute to actual ground. Do you have an understanding of that? And has it still been helping you? My kitties are always waking me up at night and I've always struggled with sleep (long before lyme!) so I'm always interested to hear in something natural that helps sleep.

Hi,

I don't think I could do a good job of explaining it.  I read the book Earthing The most important health discovery ever? by Clinton Ober, Stephen Sinatra M.D., and Martin Zucker which gives a lot of detail and is well written.  Also you can probably find videos of David Wolfe talking about Earthing on YouTube.  The mat has been great for me and I continue to sleep well using it.  Also, something I didn't mention earlier is that my feet are not ice cold like usual, I have to wear socks usually even in summer so this is something I really have noticed.  I am completely blown away with how much it has helped me.  My Mom's neighbor that lent me his book is a big fan too and trying to spread the word to as many people as he can.  He even ordered 1/2 sheets for family members to try.

I just wanted to share my experience with earthing. I have been dealing with fibro for the past 3.5 years. It started after a very violent assault I suffered. I was left with a concussion and lots of bruising to my neck. It took weeks for me to heal. But once I was healed I started having problems. Insomnia, pain in my neck, arms, back, and shoulders. Extreme fatigue and my head was always so foggy. I was miserable. I tried everything to get better. Many drs. told me there was nothing wrong with me. But finally one decided to help me. I changed my diet, which helped some, I got meds for pain and insomnia, I started taking suppliments. But I was always right on the verge of going off the deep end. I felt like this syndrome just might drive me crazy. Then my dr. gave me the Earthing book. He said just give it try. So I did, it couldn't hurt right? I started my earthing outdoors for an hour a day on my lunch break. I noticed right away that I felt better when I returned to the office. My neck and shoulders did not hurt as much and getting through the second half of my day seemed much easier. I thought maybe it was in my head, but I just kept doing it. By the end of the first week, I notice that overall I was feeling better. I was taking less pain meds. I was still not sleeping very well. And I was still having an insanely hard time getting out of the bed in the morning. It felt like every fiber of my being was commanding me to stay in the bed. Also, it took two hours before I could even think straight after waking. But because my days were improving, I continued to earth. I decided to buy an earthing 1/2 sheet. The first night I slept on it, I fell asleep instantly. But after 3 hours, I woke up sick. I was having a serious detox reaction. I felt like I had the flu and like I might throw up. I got off of the sheet. I spent the rest of the night tossing and turning and sweating. I waited 2 days and tried again. But I set my timer and only slept on it for two hours. No reaction, again I fell asleep within minutes on lying down, usually it would take hours. I spent a week increasing my time sleeping grounded. Now I sleep grounded all night. I feel amazing. I feel like my old self. I fall asleep within 5 minutes of lying down. I sleep all the way through the night, which hasn't happened in 3 years. I wake up feeling refreshed and alert. This morning I woke up and with in 15 seconds, I was already planning my day. That is just incredible to me. Another thing that I noticed is that I need less sleep. I went to bed at 10pm last night and woke up at 10 minutes to 5am. 25 minutes before my alarm went off. I was able to get right up. Not only was I able but I wanted to get up. This is the most amazing thing I have tried so far. I am completely beside myself. My partner has even said how great I look and how happy I seem. I have the energy to play with my kids again. Before I tried earthing, all I could do was rush through the nighttime routine so that I could hurry up and lay down because I was so tired all the time. I have been off all pain meds for 3 weeks now. I feel like I have my life back. All because I spend an hour a day with my feet on the grass and spend the night on a grounded sheet. I hope my story helps others. I really hope that people give it a try. Even if it is just one hour a day, outdoors. If this is the answer for anyone else, I am glad that I could help.

VBWAY...where did you purchase your grounding blanket? Or anyone else here for that matter. I’ve read reviews about Earthing dot com Earthing sheets and were bad reviews.

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! smile I was hoping maybe they received an email from this thread and was feeling up to providing some information.

If anyone else has suggestions on good quality grounding blankets or bedsheets, feel free to post.

That's certainly possible. And this will bump to the top for more views.
