Okay, so this is my new rant. I always knew mold made me sick I just had no idea how sick.

has anyone seen this doctor on TV. I guess I can mention his name since he has been on Dr Phil??

Dr. Sponaugle he does the rapid detos and treats people for addictions. he is an anestesologist
and went into brain trauma and brain chemistry. His daughter had lyme and could not get well.
he discovered that 25% of people can not detox mold in their system.

If you go to that website to the wellness section he says that ALL of the ALS patients have lyme
and that all the parkinsons have lyme spirochettes deep embeded in teh substantra nigra area of brain. (i am mis spelling all over the place here)

Anyway, it is interesting reading and not new to all of us in lyme community. I have heard the mold theory as being what is blocking certian people from getting well with lyme treatment.

He treats lyme also and it looks like with vitamin C ??? but according to them it is the mold that is standing in the way of anything working against the lyme.

I'm gonna get tested. and the truth is my Dad has been sick for 25 yrs with lyme. His house has mold.

So if he has that mold gene it would make perfect sense why he is so sick on top of everything else.

Does anyone else know something about this??? Please let us know.

I too have wondered about this.  I work in a very small office where we found mold about a year ago.  I went out a bought a heavy duty air purifier and have been on my way to feeling better even since.  Coincidence?  Perhaps but I wonder.

Just diagnosed with Lyme and our house is damps and we have mold. Wondering if a de-humidifier and air purifier would help me recover? It does not help that is has rained here the last two months....Thanks for the information.

This has always been a interesting topic to me. I've heard it's not just mold toxins that some people can't get rid of, but all toxins. If this is true I kind of feel like I'm one of them. I can say that my Lyme got a million times worse after 4 feet of flooding in my house...not the basement-the actual house, my bedroom, to be precise :(

I can't say for sure if it was the mold or the stress of the flood (and other things) that made me worse but all I know is I was doing much, much better before being exposed to mold. I'm willing to guess that I got really sick for the first time following a flood as well.

Question: Do you have any good links/resources on how to both treat mold issues in the home as well as detoxing from mold? I'd love to read....

I. Bought a 50 qoart or was it gallon?
Dehumififier in sears for $200. And it took so much water out of rthe room my skin stopped itching.? I also sprayed concrobium on mold spots i saw.
The concrobium is new product in Lowes in spray bottle.
My friend used it on her hoise in maui.

But for what is behind the walls i dont know but i do know that where u have AC in window is sure mold spot behind wall.

If i had the $9800 i would go for iv detox and get my brain balance but in meatime i am figuring different ways at home.
I found out the labcorp test to tell you if you have that gene. I will type it in morning.

Thanks for the information.
I now have two de-humidfiers up and running along with ceiling fans. A lot of water is being pulled from the air, I have to empty every few hours. I plan on re-cleaning the walls with bleach this weekend and air out the house. Unbelievable the rain we have been having. Never had anything like this in the 24 years I lived here.

Once I feel the place is cleaned and smelling better I purchased an air purifier I can run too.

Lord please do not spend that kind of money for Mold Detox. Please google Richie Shoemaker (I have no affiliation with him) and read up on Mold.

I believe he is the Dr. that BorderLyme is referring to. There are others ways to beat mold and not spend that kind of money. Does not happen overnight :(

I live in Florida, and would not recommend coming for the IV treatment. Yes, Mold can complicate getting well from Lyme, as so many other things can as well.

Have you been tested for Mold? Have you had the C4a testing done?

The Mold thing is true... before I knew I had Lyme we knew that when I would be at work I would much sicker then when at home so my Dr told me to make them test the building for Mold ...in the meantime while they were testing the building 2 different times we found out I had Lyme and the building did test positive for Mold in several areas and my OFC onky gets cool Air from the Air Conditioning Units that had all Mold Impacted filters in them ..no wonder I wa worse at work..., We had our home tested and it was clear.... It finally all made sense why I was sicker at work... Lyme patients should never be around mold, bacteria and microbials as it will make them worse ...

when i had my first lyme realted testing done, whcih apparently included the genetic tsting the dr specific said, you have the lyme-mold gene so you do not detox these items; implying to me anyway, it was one and the same gene

there was a dr in germany i hink that said all lyme has as its foundation mold..not sure if this is right or now

apparently, somewhere in the lyme piublications-research i have also read that in US, lyme more often includes mold as an undrlying condition which needs to be addressed

not sure of the treatments though, there is shoemakers as sonene suggested which uses choletsyramine-actos; you should be ableto find it online..there is a visual test on one of his sites..

wow I just re read this post and never remember Borderlyme story about the flood in her house. Holy Cow! Of course you are reacting to that.

I try all kinds of things because the house i moved into over the summer is old
and has mold in basement and i bet the roof.

I bought the Meile vaccum cleaner with and extra hepa filter and it really cleared the air for me in the house. I use thieves oil and had the basement vaccmed and sprayed with concrobium and i also ran a very powerful ozonater that I had to leave the house for and even when I cam back after airing out still was sickly from the ozone but then it seems better. I am still knocked out too much and can see how this effects your gut and brain. it keeps you up at night too.

I am focusing n being moved out by the summer . I think the winter makes the mold house easier but the steam of summer will kill me.

I just want to live in a camper but they are all formaldahyde. It is just too much to think about.

If anyone knows any other mold treatments please share.
I have done iv ozone and it helped but it too far from my house.

The real key is to remoe the mold or move. and then get treatment.

There are people here who this does not applty to but if you have that hla genetic it applys to you and your family.
