I am sooo glad to hear that your Mom is doing a little better already! Remember to take it slow with her. Trying to do too much too fast can create another set of issues like you are helping her through now.
Once your Mom is more stable, and if she still has the issues with nausea, I would suggest that she try using ginger root capsules. I happen to buy my own ground ginger root and fill my own capsules, but it can easily be bought already in capsules. It is very safe and rarely has any reactions with other meds.
I had such bad nausea once I started treatment that I couldn't hardly keep anything down, and walked around all day pale from the nausea. None of the pharmaceuticals for nausea seemed to be strong enough. Once I started using ginger on a regular basis - and I had to take a lot, 5 grams a day - my nausea has never returned. As a matter of fact I can read in a moving vehicle for the first time in my life!!! Giggle!
Of course I don't drive and read at the same time!! Giggle!!!
If you want her to give detoxing a try, I would suggest that you get her started with dry skin brushing daily and drinking as much water as possible - adding lemon to the water makes it more palatable and helps keep the body in a more alkaline state. The bacteria and viruses like the body to be in a more acidic state - also, drinking sodas will make the body more acidic.
When you and your Mom are ready for her to try a detox bath I would suggest that she start off with the one using just Epsom Salts and Peroxide. She will need to use only warm water and she should only stay in the bath for 5 minutes to start with. This will allow you both to find out how she will react, as sometimes there is a delay in response to things when one has Lyme. If she has a dramatic increase in symptoms, then you know to back down - have her only use the detox foot bath with Epsom Salts and Peroxide. She can leave her feet in for 10 - 15 minutes. I'm doing these daily right now myself.
Please be sure to let us know - as you have time- how things are going for you and your Mom.
And you might want to check out a new website that is originally set up for spouses, but I think it would help explain a lot of things for you as well. It's called Lyme Spouse. www.lymespouse.org/
It has a lot of great info for those who live with a Lyme patient. Of course you can learn a whole lot here as well! So any questions you have, please ask. We are not doctors, but collectively we have a whole lot of experience!
