Is an increased heart rate a symptom of Lyme?

My heart rate had been in the 80's (resting) last month, and was in the 90's (resting) last night. It also has felt like it's pounding at times.

Have any of you experienced a faster heart rate since getting Lyme, or while on antibiotics?

I get both, this morning my heart went from 70's to 100's and sometimes it pounds like crazy.
Late Lyme, few tick bites. Treatment started July 2011, Doxy 9 days, Amoxcillian a month, cipro/zithromax 3 mnths, second month Mepron/zithromax. Vit D, B 12, Vit C, garlic and Artemenisin. 1/12 started thyroid meds. Muscle spasms, brain fog, heart palpitations.

Yes - this has been quite a frustrating symptom for me for quite some time - especially when I'm herxing badly.

My resting heart rate is almost always 96 - sometimes higher, for no reason I can think of besides the Lyme.

I don't know if I have lyme yet, I most likely do but one of my first symptoms was a high heart rate. I developed SVT and I had an ablation which made me worse and caused me to develop another condition. My resting heart rate can get as high as 130 without a beta blocker.

I had elevated heart rate for about 10 months. At first, it was attributed to a severe iron deficiency. After that was fixed, my heart-rate improved, but was still too rapid.

I started on ABX for the Lyme, and the heart was horrible. First the LLMD thought it was the meds or the Lyme. Long story short, turned out to be systemic candida. On my 2nd day of taking only Fluconazole, my heart-rate came right down and has been normal ever since.

I've had the pounding, the skipping, the waking up with the heart going 110 in the middle of the night, the resting pulse of 90. It's horrible and scary.

Yes it is very scary. I came to the conclusion that every part of your body works overtime to try and fight off the bacteria. My heart would race, I'd get palpitations, strong pains in the chest, and they never found anything other than lyme. Have you tried deep breathing? It was a way for me to tell my body (and heart) that everything was ok. It is very calming.

Before treatment they knew me at the ER . The rate was very very high. Finally they found I had a prolapse issue gave me atentenol or tenormin and it was like whoooooooooo. Heaven.

May I ask how many mg you take of your beta blocker? I have to back soon to dr. and wondered about the safety of upping it a little.

Increased heart rate and heart "skips" have been big with me too, especially when I'm herxing. My average bpm is between 80 - 120. I've had EKGs, echocardiograms, holter monitors...everything. Luckily all came back normal but for some reason that didn't completely make me feel better. Heart symptoms are so scary and intrusive, especially when it comes to sleep!

Yes, I've been trying some deep breathing.

The worst about the heart stuff is that it causes more anxiety… which leads to more heart weirdness… that leads to more anxiety and around and around again!

What's up with the pounding? Is that caused by blood pressure, or what?
