given i will really be loading on the antibiotics and antifungals in the next couple weeks, i want to make sure i have a strict detox regimen to follow because ive been pretty lax so far. this is what i have in mind so far, and was hoping for input on what im missing:
drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (w or w/o lemon)
detox teas
mustard seed footbaths and hydrogen peroxide/epsom salt baths (dry brush before)

i am also looking into getting a membership somewhere to use a sauna- are FIR saunas what they carry in most health clubs? like princeton club? or do i have to be very careful in where i choose, depending on the type of sauna? im currently looking into where to get a membership.

also, how many times a week is it advised to sauna and take detox baths?
have i missed any key ways to detox?
thanks, and hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Teeners! My daughter's dr says to do the baths and sauna every other day. You can get an inexpensive portable sauna online. We were going to buy a large one that was thousands of dollars, but read so many reviews for the portable that we went ahead and bought one. We spent about 400 dollars for ours, but you can get one for about 200 I think. Just another option to consider if you are thinking about joining a club. . .

Just wanted to say I bought one of the $200 portable ones a few months ago (frisby brand) and actually just used it for the first time today (My house was being renovated so there was literally no place to put it until recently!) and while I was skeptical that it just wouldn't work because it was cheap - I think it did what it was supposed to do! I only did 15 minutes because I wanted to start slow, but boy did I sweat!

By the way - kudos on getting yourself so prepared! Seems like you've got a good handle on all of this!

for some reason my doctor said not to bother unless i bought one of the nicer ones? hmmmm not sure why she would of said that. and treehousemom- by every other day do you mean to switch days between saunaing and detoxing? or choose one and then take a day off, etc?
thanks!

Well, she does the sauna and the baths on the same day, then has a day off. I am not sure if that is recommended in general, or just for her. I would think that if you could tolerate every day, that that might be preferable?? Also, we went to health food store and bought a gallon glass jug of apple cider--now that is her water jug, so she can see how much water she drinks in a day. Just easier--once it's gone, she has had enough water! I know there are more ways to detox than this--anyone else have suggestions??!!!

I usually try to make sure I do at least one detox "thing" every day, besides skin brushing which I do everyday (except for the days when it hurts too much!). Besides the baths, sauna, and exercising, I like to drink different kinds of teas that promote detoxing - this is my favorite way to detox as it actually tastes good (usually!).

That is a good idea about using a jug though - I may just have to borrow that idea! I think it might be a good idea to start a new thread about detoxing methods (that way more people are likely to see it).

Hi teeners,

This is the sauna I use which I bought from Amazon and I don't know how many years I have been using it and it still works great!  I really sweat and feel so good afterward!  I always put music on while I'm sitting in the sauna..  This sauna gets hot and has a remote control to set the temperature and a timer..  I'm a tall girl so if I had to do it over again, I would buy the XL one..  Maybe in the near future I will...

http://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Portable-Foldable-Sauna-Detox/dp/B002POAYDW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329911386&sr=8-1

Anyway, I try to take a detox bath about 5 times a week but that's me..  I use my sauna about 3 to 4 times a week...  And of course I do the coffee enema's to get rid of toxins as well...  I understand that many people have a hard time doing those...

There is no set rule about how many detox baths to take, it's what you can handle without having any negative side effects (same with the sauna)..  I knew this guy who took 3 detox baths every day... So everyone is different..  You have to do what makes you feel comfortable...

Sounds to me like you have a good detox plan!  yeah

Also Castor Oil Wraps are soooo good too... very cheap and simple to do.

Buy some castor oil, spread it around your upper and lower belly, put a thin cloth over and then a heating pad for an hour or less.

I also, bought the foldable FIR infrared sauna and very much worth the $200

Hi Teeners, I have been trying to come up with a good detox regimen, too. I just joined a gym again, in order to use the sauna. I don't know if it's a FIR sauna, and it is cedar (which I've heard is a no-no), but it does the job, I believe. I had a portable FIR sauna that I bought on ebay in 2008 for about $300, and honestly, the smell of the plastic was too much for me. I am very sensitive to scent, so it may not be a big deal for most people. Those things do make you sweat like crazy, which is good.

I was dry skin brushing, but I stopped after my Naturopath said I was probably doing more harm than good, since my lymph nodes hurt so bad afterward. I may reintroduce that, and just do it a bit softer to see if the symptoms lessen.

I don't do the full detox baths, but I love doing the mustard powder and cayenne pepper foot baths, as well as just the epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide foot baths. I don't know how many times per week is the ideal, but I like to do one every other day.

I've never heard of a Detox Tea before. Can anyone tell me which ones are best? Sounds like a tasty way to detox.
