I can't handle the muscles twitches! I was told it could be helped by B vits, but it is still happening. My right lower back muscle has been twitching all day.

My legs also feel like they are quivering from the inside out.

Also, I get these weird itchy spots that become a jerk, like in the middle of my foot. All of a sudden.

What can I do for temporary relief?  Any suggestions please? I don't start initial treatment for a while. One or two weeks.

I'm with mercury - magnesium is really great for twitching, as well as a number of other things. Are you supplementing with magnesium? Supposedly most americans don't get enough magnesium to begin with. Supplementing can be a bit confusing with so many forms out there, magnesium malate or glycinate have worked pretty well for me. I have heard good things about creams and oils, but I don't have any direct experience (it's on my to-to list!).

Also, have you had your potassium levels checked? This can be another cause for muscle twitching. In the meantime, a little chamomile tea might help if you have some, or even some deep breathing exercises might help - anything that calms the nerves a bit. Hang in there!

good point to add to what borderlyme said..everyone is low magnesium for many reasons
tea depletes magnesium, as well as soft drinks, chemicals, heavy metals and lyme apparently eats it up..and more importantly the food we eat unless organic has like 10% of the magnesium it had 20 years ago due to phosphates in fertilizer that has wiped out all minerals in soil..so supping is key

magnesium asparate and glutamate are to be avoided as they are excitatory forms of magnesium that most of our brains do not like and magnesium citrate is made from citric acid which guess what is made in turn from aspergillus niger (mold)..also oral forms do not seem to be absorbed very well due to alkalinity...magnesium malate is said to be the best as its made from apples (malate=malic acid)..i was using Natures Life in raw powder
form 27 gram container

also magnesium is the master mineral, without proper levels of magnesium, your body does not absorb potassium and calcium..

it was interesting as i have been doing quarterly blood tests and potassium blood levels were rising significantly as i believe i became more magnesium depleted due to dumping of heavy metals.after doing5-6 magnesium IV's, my potassium blood levels became normal..s my point is high serum levels of potassium can be proof you do not ahve enough magnesium as potassium is not getting absorbed

wilson in his book, adrenal fatigue says this will happen, our cells do not absorb potassium

then the other thing to consider is maintaining the cellular structure of sodium-potassium which is i believe 16:1 so I take a little sea salt with my potassium chloride and sodium bicarb drink..this is like alka setzer gold which sometimes work to clear brain fog,,approx 1/16 teaspoon sea salt-1/8 teaspoon-1/8 teaspoon baking soda (NOT baking powder as this has aluminum in it)

I've been using the magnesium calm, which is magnesium citrate. I didn't realize that it came from a mold. I'm going to look into magnesium malate. I especially like that there is a raw option.

I agree with everyone's suggestion of Magnesium. My Cardiologist has me on prescription Magnesium Oxide (does this contain mold?), for my sometimes rapid heartbeat and PVC's, and I also use it when my muscle twitches start up. I notice a difference pretty quickly. I also seem to get more muscle twitches when I'm herxing, so I try to think of it as the bugs being killed off.

i believe mag oxide has no mold, also its funny, but yesterday when i was in midst of herx from He** my legs started cramping up as well, so i believe as you say, that detoxing-bug killiing eats up more magnesium somehow
as i have not had bad muscle cramps in calves for a while and it was peculiar that it was on same day as herx

its just citric acid which is used as far as i can tell for most forms of magnesium citrate-cause its cheap crap and the supplement makes do not care .well i am sorry, they do care, but not necessarily about the safety of their products versus making a $$$

sorry to clarify two things

FIRST
the mag malate I used was Natures Life 360 gram container of raw powder; its pretty cheap, cannot remember price though
ingredients: per 1/2 rounded teaspoon 4 grams= 600 mgs magnesium-2.88 grams malic acid

SECOND
the alka setzer gold like drink I make that seems to help clear brain fog, sometimes is as foolows;
in large glass of water to dilute taste: approximations
1/16 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 potassium chloride from purebulk, but I have used nusalt a salt substiture as well which is made from potassium chloride
1/8 teaspoon baking soda

I've heard so many mixed things about all the different forms of magnesium - some people say the forms that are usually cheaper are no good, while others have noticed quite a difference from using them. As with most things concerning our treatment - it's all so individualized and often no rhyme or reason for why what works for one person doesn't work for another, and vice versa.

The way I see it, if something's working, you might as well stick with it!

Good suggestions here.

Mg is king, but I would not stop the B vitamins.

I find the muscle twitches, spasms, jumps whatever one calls them usually means I am going down (going to get a flare) and they continue during the flare.

They are a pain.

The Mag Citrate works well for me...it is a chelated form and should be just fine. Malate and Taurate are other chelated forms. Magnesium Oxide is the one that isn't well absorbed from all the research I have done. Magnesium sulfate (epsom salts) also does wonders in the bath...
