When I was super sick I'd get these bouts of weakness, light headedness. Felt if I got up and walked around I'd pass out. Also feel shaky/jelloy.

I started doxy 2 weeks ago, and biaxin 1 week ago. After not having these bouts for 2 months, I've had them 2x in a week. I had to pull oven on way to work today. I'm so bummed as this is THE symptom that makes it hard for me to function. :(. Will it ever go away!?!?

Hi there popica,

You will probably find that some of your symptoms come back as you progress through your treatment. It will be temporary, I assure you!

Some of the shakiness can be due to magnesium and potassium imbalances -- at least that was my experience. I used the magnesium supplement Natural Calm and Gatorade (even though there's some sugar in it) to keep things in order.

Hope you get through this phase quickly! smilewinkgrin

Hi Popica,

Dizziness and feeling like I'm going to pass out is by far my worst symptom. I know how you feel. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, everyone. I think I'm terrified of passing out. When I get this dizziness I think I also start to have some panic which doesn't help.

Part of me worries, also, that this isn't a herx at all and I'm still sick and the abx aren't working. I'm not sure why but some days I doubt whether it's Lyme at all
and start to worry it's something else I'm missing! Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Is this doubt common? I looked so long for a diagnosis and now I hVe one and some days I don't beleive it!!

One more thing!

Interesting you say that about mag/potassium, acheivement grace. When this all started what sente to the er was low potassium. Then my mag came back low in bloodwork, which as I understand it prob means I have a major mag deficiency. I started taking mag and my heart symptoms Reduced dramTically. I ran out of mag a few weeks ago and in a week my heart beat normally again. So maybe this is related as you suggest.

By the way, I drink coconut water. Much less sugar and cold it tastes pretty yummy. :)

I was in a similar situation recently...at the very beginning of my treatment every day I was confined to the couch because of the dizziness, lightheadedness, etc., which would then induce a panic attack...it lasted for a while. I was so relieved when it finally went away, then I changed up some things a few months ago and got hit pretty hard again.

Not to sound like a broken record, but extra detoxing really can help - increase your fluid intake, more baths if you're doing them, etc. And I had my doctor prescribe me something for the panic attacks - there's no need to go through that if you don't have to!

I know that while you're in the throes of it it doesn't seem like it'll ever go away, but when it's over, your perspective will change, I assure you. Just hang in there!
