I wanted to post about my experience with electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EMS). My nutritionist informed me that EMS is related to having heavy metals in the body. The heavy metals can pick up a charge (especially from pulsed signals), causing hypersensitivity symptoms.
At its height, I was reacting to computers & cell phones, long car trips, HDTVs, and even some small appliances. My brain felt fried around these items, I felt a combination of fatigue & anxiety simultaneously, they inflamed an infection I had, disrupted my adrenal & melatonin levels, and gave me osteoporotic symptoms. It got to the point where I would see fluorescent lights flickering when a device emitting electromagnetic radiation was within a few feet of me.
Symptoms increased with repeated exposure, and disappeared when I was away from these items. My symptoms contined to increase in severity over time.
I found some relief from devices that help neutralize this radiation, but they did not ultimately fix the problem. (However, I would not get rid of them.)
I am part of the ~25% of the population who almost lacks the genetic ability to detoxify from metals that make their way into my body from food, second-hand smoke, etc.
Despite having done metal detox last year, I still had high levels of metals in my body, including mercury (which amplifies charges substantially), lead (which stores in bone and contributes to brittle bones/osteoporosis), cadmium (second-hand smoke), aluminum, uranium, and lower levels of 11 other heavy metals.
I finally began metal chelation IVs, which have a negative charge. This has helped most substantially in terms of reducing the sensitivity. However, as with all metal detox, it is tough on the body, and better to do when infections are in remission.
Also, since my candida is not entirely gone yet, I still have mineral absorption issues. I have found that I'm not absorbing regular mineral supplements well, and have done best with homeopathic mineral supplements and mineral baths, where minerals are absorbed through the skin. Having correct minerals is key to strengthening the body to withstand the constant assault from electromagnetic radiation.
There are also metallic fabrics and paneling one can purchase to help shield from electromagnetic radiation, creating a sort of Faraday's cage.
I'm a music teacher, and not a doctor. Anything I post is based on my own experience and lay opinion.
