I am based in UK looking to see a US doctor (due to the amount of experience and knowledge on tick-borne illness in USA).
I am on Dr C (PA) waiting list, but also interested in Dr R (NYC), Dr S (PA), Dr D (MA), Dr J (DC) , Dr C (NY).
I have Neuroborreliosis, a toddler to look after and am really scared that this will/is affecting my ability to look after my child. I cannot walk properly as it affecting my legs (I use crutches sometimes- not toddler friendly!) and I have had recent cognitive problems. Lots of other random lymey problems (shooting muscle/joint pain, ataxia, dizzy spells, nausea, headache, poor balance periodically, random other pains (transient), disrupted sleep, fatigue, weakness, word recall problems) I am getting virtually no help or support from the NHS ('we do not believe in chronic Lyme'- since when was medicine a belief system?!) and my private doctor is treating me but quite conservatively. I think I may have to travel to get adequate treatment.
This is a relapse of a previous infection (2008-end 2009), which was sent into complete remission for 2.5 years by the use if IV Ceftriaxone, azithromycin, amoxycillin and Tinidazole, then Rifampicin and artesunate. Some Klinghardt herbal stuff at the end. So, I know I can be made well again, I did it once, I can do it again. I just need a good doctor. I have a good tolerance of all abx I've tried so far, no obvious co-infections, slight thyroid issues, positive Igenex IgG, equivocal Igenex IFA, no other health issues, generally otherwise healthy. I think I would be an 'easy win' relatively speaking for an LLMD.
I need someone who really knows their stuff and is not afraid of treating aggressively where appropriate. I need to be able to have some consultations by phone or Skype due to distance. If they are v. good and I have confidence in them, I will do absolutely everything they say.
If you have any experience of these docs, or others, please let me know, I'd be really really grateful. Email enabled I think.
