I'm so sorry for what you are dealing with! I wish I had some insight on this. I have no facts to share, but I can say that I have had serious issues with my monthy cycle. Last month my period was 3 days long, this month it was 10, and it was very heavy and very painful. I'm planning to schedule another appt with my OB. Funny how they tried to brush you off (in your 30's, really?), and did an ultrasound "just to make sure", only to find PCOS! Doctors really need to start taking is more seriously, I'm fed up with being sick AND ignored!
I can relate to not wanting to take bc pills. I've tried and every time I try I fail miserably. I just can't handle them, they make me feel crazy!
I also have issues with weight but just around my belly. Congrats on losing 50 lbs, that's amazing! I have a hard time dieting, I crave sugar and carbs constantly and get headaches when I don't have any!! I can't exercise because pain is my main Lyme symptom right now and it's debilitating.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I've had three pregnancies and one living child.
Again, I'm sorry I don't have any real help here, but I just wanted to say I understand where you're coming from. I'm convinced Lyme disease is causing all of these "female" issues for me. I have recurrent BV and it is so embarrassing and frustrating! I would say check with your LLMD and see if they think there is a connection. Hopefully he/she can work with your OB and figure out a way to treat this without birth control pills.
Sorry for my rant, and I don't mean to bash your OB. I've just had it with doctors! Even good doctors seem to want to ignore what's right in front of them. It's just not fair to us.
