I'm one who has not only had these infections for a very long time before getting pregnant and before getting treatment, but also have been pregnant and had 2 live births and now my kids are in their late 20's (YIKES!) and are healthy and happy.
My 2 kids did display signs of infections along the way, although I didn't know enough then to recognize them - I also didn't realize that I was infected back then.
First of all, I was pregnant with my daughter for 10 1/2 months before the doctor induced me. Once she was born, she had serious enough jaundice that they almost didn't let her come home three days after her birth, although that cleared with time in the sun. She then had a relapsing fever episode later, when she was about 3 or 4 years old. None of the docs that I took her to could diagnose her with anything (typical of non-Lyme literate doc's though), and so she was put on high dose abx for about 3 or 4 months before the fevers stopped.
Since that time, she's been quite healthy! As a matter of fact, she went on to do so well that she is now a scientist doing research on Pulmonary Hypertension!
My son - who I only carried 10 months before they induced me, had penile torsion, and had such issues with inner ear infections before he was even a year old, was put on adult strength abx for the last 3 months before he was old enough to go through surgery for tubes to be put in his ears. His teeth were quite messed up later on when they came in, but he's alive for me to worry about!!
Even with all of that, he's healthy now!! He works for a large city keeping the street lights and traffic signals operating, so he's quite busy as well.
So just because you had these infections, it doesn't mean that you've passed them on to your son. It also doesn't mean that if your son does have an infection, that it will be devastating to his health.
I can say this for sure - don't let your worry get in the way of enjoying your son in these early years, or in the later years. You'll never have a second chance to experience them and it's something you don't want to miss - take a Mom's word on that!
So do your best to relax. Maybe you could go talk with a counselor and get some help learning how to live with this? Like I said, you sure don't want to miss out on anything with your son because you were too busy worrying about his health unnecessarily - and since you see no signs of any symptoms, it really is unnecessary to worry about these infections.
