There had only been evidence of Lyme spirochetes (Lyme bacteria) in semen so far
- this can't rule out the possibility that a female could transmit Lyme to a male, only that they haven't found how it would happen.
There are different flues going around. I would suggest that you and your boyfriend take action as if it were just the flu. If it doesn't clear up in a reasonable amount of time (5 - 10 days) or if he develops other signs pointing to Lyme, then I would suggest taking a serious look at the possibility that he too has Lyme and/or other tick-borne infections.
Another thing to remember is that he may have just been bitten by an insect that had Lyme disease - it may not have come from you! Many insects now carry Lyme - spiders, mosquitoes, biting flies of all types, bed bugs - most anything that can bite and survive to bite again can pass these infections.
