For me, i have always done poorly on abx over the years. Now I know that I am heterozygous for both MTHFR A1298C and MTHFR C677T genetic polymorphisms. They effect my ability to detox. So, when I take abx and it nukes everything, good and bad, my body cannot process the toxins efficiently and they poison me, in essence, keeping me weak so the pathogens that are left can take over. Because I have Mycoplasma Pneumonia, Systemic Strep and Lyme, short of vancomycin it's hard to get an abx cocktail that would hit all of them, leaving no gaps. Add to that a saprophytic fungi/mold overgrowth in my intestines waiting for no bacteria to oppose it.. And it's pretty hard strategically.
So, I take herbs, supplements and use diet modifications. The thing about
that route is that its much easier on the body to take over long periods of time. Because killing pathogens comes in waves, that is important. Also, many of the things I take address multiple issues. For instance, Triphala is important for my gut that doesn't work properly, it is a blood tonic, to help with die off, it is a biofilm buster, and it has some antiviral and antibacterial properties. Sodium butyrate addresses my gut issues again pairing with berberine to kick yeast butt, focuses on the colon and it detoxifies the ammonia that the pathogens produce as well as the excess trapped by my genetic polymorphism of MTHFR A1298C. This creates a synergistic approach, treating my whole body instead of just trying to nuke the pathogens. We will never nuke them all. This changes the terrain and empowers the body to keep things in line. Our body's natural defenses are more powerful then any drug, herb or supplement. So for me it is about
removing the blocks that are preventing my body from doing it's job.
