I would have to agree wholeheartedly with ToddPaul on each of his points!! There really hasn't been a tick found that can't transmit the Lyme disease bacteria - even the Lone Star tick has been confirmed to carry Lyme disease.
Considering not 1/2 of those infected with Lyme will get any kind of a rash, and considering you have other chronic health concerns, it's best to not wait for any symptoms to appear. The Lyme disease bacteria is well known to lower the immune system, so waiting could possibly have a very bad effect on your other health issues.
When I was still in treatment for tick-borne infections, I had a tick attach to me, and two hours later, I had a large increase in my symptoms and some new ones pop up as well!! So I can tell you from personal experience that the ticks don't wait around to spew their infectious diseases!!!
Please be sure to use a LLMD trained by ILADS standards though. These doctors go through specialize training just for these infections - using clinically and scientifically backed up data.
