Feverfew. It worked for my daughter's migraines for a good long while, although it doesn't always work for everyone's migraine, although it's good for some types of regular headaches as well.
I always preferred to use the fresh herb, so we would take 2 feverfew leaves and put them between 2 saltine crackers as the herb is incredibly bitter. My daughter had to take 2 'sets' of crackers with feverfew in order for it to be strong enough for her.
I know that feverfew is also sold in capsules. That would be my first choice for someone in your position (a mother of young children) simply because it's easier to use that way.
Personally, I believe migraines are triggered by a number of things and like most things, the triggers are different for everyone. My daughter has been through all kinds of testing, and no one can figure out what's causing hers. She's having her adrenals tested this month to see if that's a possible cause.
I know for me, if I detoxed too much - or not enough - a migraine was a sure bet
as well as having random ones.
