Tommy- I am sorry to hear you are having so many symptoms! I am amazed how these doctors can dismiss this stuff and say you are perfectly healthy. I was just diagnosed in September. Two months ago I was traveling with a memory foam mattress cover on my car seat because I was in so much pain I couldn't even sit on the normal car seat. I was practically crawling into the doctors office. Yet they told me that I was healthy and that I needed antidepressants. They suggested that my perception of pain was somehow distorted from stress. (insert eye rolling here)

I can tell you that I am much better now and I have only been on antibiotics for 30 days. I would say that I am maybe 60 percent better already. My LLND says I will need to be on the antibiotics at least 6-18 mos. I still have some pain but not nearly as bad as it was. My symptoms lessening has proven to me that I am on the right course of treatment. I still herx when I have increased my antibiotics or when I added the second antibiotic.

By the way I also have little red blood marks under my skin and I have a positive test for Babesia. I actually forgot about that symptom but I have often noticed that often in the last year. I had never heard that came from Babesia. Hang in there. Will you be able to get a LLMD in Sweden? Will they send your blood test to Igenex or is there a lab in Europe?

River4 - I am really glad you are feelig better! I'm seeing a LLMD and he agrees that I have many symptoms related to Lyme. about Babesia and other co-infections it seems he doesn´t wanna listen to me, and says my symptoms comes from something else. My LLMD have had Lyme himself, but still...I´m not really sure if he´s that good of a Lyme doctor.

Nevertheless, I don´t wanna change because I´m not sure I will get better treatment from another doctor. He agrees we can start Antibiotics to see how my body responds, but I also have alot of yeast in my body so i m not sure if I have to get rid of that first. My Babesia was negative, but I haven´t found any other disease that gives you the red blood marks. It´s not that many, but they keep popping up. My tests was sent to a lab in Germany, and I will post all my test results later today.

Ok, so here are my test results. As mentioned - it did not turn out the way I was hoping for.
Most of my symptoms are posted in the 1st post in this thread.I also suffer from Insomnia, heart murmurs, bumps on my head, testicular pains, spider-veins on both my cheeks, feeling of someone strangling me from time to time, breathlessness, nail-infectons (blue toe nails) rib-pain and pain in soft tissues. And I get really tired and heavy breathing just from shaving, turning myself during nighttime, put my shoes on, showering..And my LLMD does not seem to understand.I notice that some of my symtoms are 24/7 and others would reappear every 4-8 weeks, to last between 3 to 7 days.

Earlier tests shows that I got intolerance for a lot of foods, my body is storing metals(lead and aluminum) and I am loaded with mold and fungus(Candida most likely). I also know that many of my symptoms can be related to Candida, but I believe I got fungus/yeast for a reason. There is definately something living in my body that needs to be killed.

Regarding autoimmune diseases I have levels on Lupus anticoagulant RVVT 1,64 which should be <1,25.Also have levels on HLA B27 which can be an indication for Bechterew's disease.

Cholesterol issues and metabolism issues, tests show levels are going the wrong way, but not at all
severe yet..

Vitamin levels are good, except low on zinc and magnesium. Also a little low on D vitamin.

Quick question before my results: My first symptom was actually the head-pressure after a vacation in 2001. Got it 5-7 days after I arrived back home. Immediatly knew that something either was put inside me or something bit me. Wondering if Lyme can be stored in my body for many years before it actually start to give severe symptoms..? My symptoms have gotten gradually worse from 2007. I actually felt that something spread through my body..

I heard on this forum that the best blood tests only test for 4 or 5 of the over 300 strains that have the
potential to cause Lyme disease, so it's easy to miss infections.

So for what it´s worth, here they are: (Examined on some lab in Germany, Augsburg)
Don´t know if you guys have the same measurements on your tests, but I´ll give it a go and translate the best I can (hope itmakes sense):

Hi tommy,

It would actually make more sense for you to be negative then positive. I cannot 100% say that they use the same test for lyme in the US but most likely, that is the case. They test for only one US strain of lyme, over 30 strains of borrelia have been identified in the US alone. The tests only work for that one!

Given your symptoms and the appearance of some auto-immune indicators I would not rule out lyme for sure. Keep in mind I never had a true positive through regular labs also but had clear herx reactions and improvements in bloodwork after treatment.

Follow your gut. You should know on those herbs if it is right for you. I would focus on cleaning up your diet and detoxing. Then when your herbs come in your detox organs should be better prepared to get the bacteria out!

about the only thing I have to add - and it's because you asked about it, is about the "anti-C6 Lyme- detected".

www.specialtylabs.com/education/download_PDF/TN_1172.pdf

"Unlike other whole-cell sonicate EIA tests, the Borrelia burgdorferi C6 Peptide Antibody DetectR™ assay can detect infection even in an individual who has been vaccinated with the OspA Lyme vaccine."

Of course there's a lot more information on the pdf than I copied and pasted here though!

Thank you so much opugirl and traveler! Ordered my herbs and can't wait to see how it turns out! One last qst: Is it possible for Lyme or co-infections to be stored in your body for many years without giving much symptoms, suddenly to spread and give you hell?

yes I believe so though it hasn't been proven. I know exactly when I got bit and I think it started mildly effecting me after 2 years and then after 5 yrs is when I got hit really bad.

As Opugirl said, it's not been proven, but how much of what we know has been? That's exactly how it happened for me. I was infected when I was 7 - 9 with several tick-borne infections. I had periods of sickness, but also had periods of really good health. I mean I was a horse trainer for many years!!

But then I would get ill, sometimes bed bound even, it would last a few months, then I'd be back on my feet. This continued until I was in my late 20's, then I was never able to hold a job. I could work for 3 weeks, but I'd be bed bound for 4 weeks each time I tried. By the age of 36, I was incredibly ill, but still functioning. I just kept getting worse and worse, until I tried one year of abx and that was just too much for my body and I fell into being very seriously ill.

After 2 1/2 years of treatment that my body could handle and I'm back. I don't have the energy of other 50 yr olds, but I did just survive a very serious set of chronic infections!! So I and my family is just tickled that I'm no longer battling these infections.

And yes, as long as your body is detoxing well, then treatment for metal toxicity will also help a lot.

Also forgot one test that shows that my blood will clot easier than normal, or maybe it´s thicker i´m not sure. But i know this also could be a factor for Lyme - P-Anti-beta2-GPI igG is 26,4 which has a reference area for <20.

Hi Tommy,

We're both European, I'm from Belgium.

So I had a test done in Augsburg, at Infectolab. Is that the lab you sent your blood to?

You had the whole thing done!!! What a list... I just got these done (I didn't put my results here, just the reference range):

Borrelia burgdorferi Elispot LTT

Borrelia burgd. Fully Antigen          <2

Borrelia OSP-MIx (OSPA/OSPC/DbpA)     <2

Borrelia LFA-1     <2

as you can see, the reference ranges are different on my paper, the test itself is not the same either, there are some differences, so maybe you were at another lab in Augsburg?

This is how the results should be interpreted according to the lab:

2 SI is borderline

>2 SI (is positive) mean a specific response of the T-lymphocytes regarding the different antigens in the Elispot-LTT.

Then another thing: I buy most of my herbs and supplements through an American online shop (don't know if I can post it here, but if you google 'supplements ih' you'll find the whole name right away, it has to do with herbals - lol). Supplements are really expensive in Belgium, most of them are 3x the price than the ones I get in the US, same brand. Shipping costs are low ($8), and I have to pay some taxes at customs to get the stuff into the country. And they are so quick, delivery is quicker than ordering in Belgium or the Netherlands.

Hi Tommy,

Welcome to this wonderful forum!  I read most of the posts here and I don't mean to add to any confusion but I am more concerned about the blood clot in your leg and both lungs.  You said you were taking medicines for this (I am guessing blood thinners) but have you had the blood clot checked out lately?  I read there are surgical procedures for this if you still have the blood clot and it's not getting better.

If it were me, I would concentrate more on the blood clot right now then start treating lyme.

Just my thoughts,

Denise

Hi Denise - I am happy for all replies!

I just recently checked my leg with ultrasound regarding the blood clot. No signs of a new one, but there could be something blocking as my left leg is thicker than the other. I´m also struggling with pain as my vein(s) may be broken. I have seen vascular surgeons and there are treatment for this. I will get it in about a month and a half.

Regarding Varicose Veins, I will get this checked out next thursday, and yet another ultrasound on my leg. Therefore I am not really that concerned about a new clot in my leg right now, just want surgery to make it look good again. But it will be a good idea to check out my lungs again, as I am heavy breathing from time to time. But my thought is that has to do with Lyme or co-infections. But I will check it out definately!

Yes, it's a good thing to share where we can shop for these things online, as long as the person posting doesn't receive any kind of compensation for someone going to the site or from someone buying something from the site!

So if you are just sharing that you had a good experience with a place to buy herbs, supplements or whatever - then please do!

As long as they don't have massive brain fog!! LOL! So that everyone knows which company we are talking about, it's Iherb.

And my disclaimer:
***I neither work for this company, nor do I receive any compensation in any form from people visiting the site or buying from the site.

Hi all, anyone ordered from this site?

http://www.1stchineseherbs.com

Sent them an e-mail and they will ship some items to Norway where i´m currently living now.

Japanese Knotweed
Teasel Root
Artemisia Annua

They will send these three herbs, as for Houttuynia they only have powder and they don´t carry the sida acuta tincture/extract so I have to get this elsewhere. I know Iherb carries Houttuynia.

Question is, is it safe to order from them or am I better off ordering from http://woodlandessence.com/
and send it all to my folks in Sweden?

Thing is I´m not going back home for quite a while, and I want my herbs real quick!:-)

I've ordered from 1st Chinese herbs as well and I found I had good service as well - unless they are just currently out of the "cut" Houttuynia, I've seen it on their site.

OK, thank you both!:-)

Think opugirl told me to get 2 ounces of each, then I should notice difference in my body within 6-8 weeks slowly adding..

So if I get the following I should be alright?

http://www.iherb.com/NutraMedix-Houttuynia-Microbial-Defense-1-fl-oz-30-ml/47438#p=1&oos=1&disc=0&lc=en-US&w=houttuynia&rc=3&sr=null&ic=1

Sida acuta extract 2 ounces from this site, since they don´t carry it elsewhere: http://woodlandessence.com/herbal.htm

And the following from http://www.1stchineseherbs.com/:

http://www.1stchineseherbs.com/hu_zhang.html (seems they only have powder?)

http://www.1stchineseherbs.com/wormwood_aerial_part.html (should I get the liquid extract?)

http://www.1stchineseherbs.com/teasel_root.html (cut/sliced or powder?)

Seems they carry more extracts from woodland than others..

In order to get the 'cut' form of those herbs, you have to buy a larger quantity is all - 1 lb size.

Please be aware that you will be mixing different forms of the herbs - cut, powder, and tinctures. These all have different concentrations of the active ingredients, so be careful please!
