I've had it in gum before, but that's about it.

Is it better/worse than stevia?

I found this cookbook, and thought if it is okay to use xylitol, I might buy this:

Also- do you guys have a favorite stevia brand? I can't quite get over the strong after-taste and I've had 3 different brands. The best I tried is Pure Synergy, but they only have sample bottles that they send with their Pure Synergy Superfood- (which is absolutley amazing, as are all of their products). I don't work for them or anything, but I got turned on to their stuff by my acupuncturist a few years ago.

I used to sell xylitol in my store but it never really went over well. I opened up a packet and tried it straight and can tell you it's not very sweet at all. Somehow it does taste sweet in gum though.

I use a xylitol toothpaste called Triple Action by Kiss My Face which comes in a gel and a paste form. I prefer the gel. It really prevents tartar and plaque buildup. Great toothpaste.

As far as stevia goes, NuNaturals used to be excellent tasting but they changed their raw material supplier and it's horrible now. I replaced it with a product called Soooo Sweet! which is going over very well with my customers and tastes good to me. A bit pricey but at least no aftertaste.

I can't stand stevia unless they are flavored! I do use xylitol toothpaste and gun and those aren't bad.

I've heard agave is good but I don't know much about it.

I use it in baking and oatmeal. It's made from birch, not soy. The brand is Smart Sweet.

ToddPaul, thanks for the stevia suggestion. I've been looking for one without the aftertaste.

I use the "NOW" brand Stevia - it's called "Better Stevia". Maybe I've just gotten used to the taste though???

Xylitol can actually kill biofilms in the mouth- so it's great for gums and toothpastes, but it doesn't survive the stomach acid from what I can tell.

Neither one of these sweeteners will affect the Lyme or Candida healing.
Lyme herbs used: "Chronic Tonic" from Disease.pdf for 9 months

Bart herb - only Houttuynia for 6 months
