I think there's a big difference between being a doctor and being a scientist for most. My daughter is a scientist as well, and her curiosity is boundless. Most doc's that I've seen - and I've lived in many states! - feel more like if a patient doesn't fit into one of the 'models' they are used to, they just ignore them or try to sedate them.
My hubby was sitting next to me while I was on the forum yesterday and asked about
someone's signature line where they had listed their WB results. He had never actually seen one before so he wanted to know what was being talked about
. I explained it to him and he then wanted to know what those results meant and I told him that the member had quite a few Lyme specific bands that were either positive or reactive and so that person had Lyme, and likely a long time due to the IgG results.
His only question after that? "If you know that just by glancing at those results, why is there such a controversy and why don't doctors understand that?"
