I agree, Cppoly - there is no evidence that the bacteria can be completely eradicated from the body -brain biopsies have shown this, but that doesn't mean that a body can't recover, much like with cancer, and be in remission - as I am. I have no active symptoms of these diseases - but I also know that I absolutely must keep my stress low, eat well, continue to detox and stay healthy - or I run the risk of a relapse.
Considering we generally understand what things will lead people that have these infections to have overwhelming symptoms has to do with the body's ability to detox, immune system functioning well, stress levels and other conditions - it only makes sense that once we've kicked these symptoms to the curb, we need to do what we must to make sure that the body continues being able to accomplish those things on a regular, daily basis.
Ultimately, we are discussing things that are outside of the realm of research at this point in time though - so we are only just assuming things - so it could change.
It would only make sense in my mind though that someone with uncontrolled symptoms is more likely to pass on these infections than someone who has lowered amounts of bacteria in their system. But this whole post is just my 2 cents anyway!
