being that I live relatively close to Chicago (well, kind of; it's two hours away) anyway, I'm a member of the private fb group Chicago Suburban Lyme. There are close to a couple of hundred members, and usually it's pretty active. If you have a question or idea, etc. and you post it you get a response not long after that.
I don't post as much as others, but learn things from them and feel like they're supportive of each other. You wouldn't have to be from Chicago t join.
And I'm a member of a couple for parents of children with lyme that are great, but I know that isn't your situation. I bring it up though just to mention that on those and the Chicago one I do find them to be fairly active and definitely positive and supportive.
Healingwell is nice, b/c I feel like the questions and comments tend to be more detailed and therefore more personal, but I still like the fb pages too. And, I will add that maybe twice I have seen a comment on a fb page that seemed a little short, or rude (like impatient or grumpy or something) and I have thought "that would never fly on healing well" which I'm grateful for. But that said, in 3 months on 3 lyme fb pages, I've really only seen that two to three times.
If you just even searched a couple and joined to try them out you'd probably pretty quickly get a feel for if you liked them or not.
I'd encourage it, b/c the more support places we have the better!
