My test came back negative but I know for fact I have Lyme. I found quite a few ticks on me and I had a nice bulls eye rash. I immediately went to the Dr to show it to him and he said there was no Lyme here and I must have been bitten by a spider.
So being too stupid to stand up to him (back then) I accepted what he told me and went home and continued to see him as I got more and more symptoms.
I was seen by more Drs than you can imagine for all the symptoms in an attempt to find out what was wrong with me. Finally about
5 or 6 years after I got bitten I was sent for an MRI and I remember the Dr calling me to say it looked like Lyme disease! I swear I was in total shock and I did ask how he could tell, he explained but I don't really remember all he said about
After that I found a Lyme Dr. which is NOT easy, there was only one in my state. He tested me (Igenix) and it came back negative. He had examined me and listened to my story and I took along a copy of my medical records. That LLMD explained that testing is still not 100% accurate. He put me on some major meds which my body just couldn't tolerate and before we could find a solution he was run out of business like so many other LLMD's. I tried to find another LLMD but none were close enough and so I started seeing Dr's again.
Because of the way I was treated by several those Dr's I refuse to ever go in another Dr's office. I now treat myself with herbs etc and I pray each day for a miracle so I can regain what is left of my life.
This is a nasty disease and most Dr's won't help us, they make us feel crazy.
It's a sin for so many people to be suffering and nothing is being done about
it! Maybe someday they will have a test that is 100% accurate but right now they aren't and a symptom check list helps in diagnosing Lyme and the co-infections.
